Senior Financial Controller - Terminal Link

 

Terminal Link is a port operator used to develop, design, build and operate the terminal. It originated with a development strategy of providing terminals with a high quality service for every shipping company, optimising the financial value and profitability of each terminal and maintain a diverse customer portfolio.

 

 

 

THE ROLE

 

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join the affiliate company Terminal Link, JV between the CMA CGM Group and the China Merchants Group, Terminal Operator.

The Financial Controller will report directly to the CFO within a Finance team made up of three people.

The Financial Controller will be part of an operational team of ten people within the Terminal Link company which covers a portfolio of twenty-one terminals. 

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES


Your position within the finance team will be multi-purpose and based on the following missions:

 

Core missions:

 

  • Assist on the performance management from financial perspectives, including the financial analysis on terminals’ performance and provide improvement recommendation to performance management;
  • Financial daily work: 
    • Manage and monitor the work done by the external accounting service provider;
    • Cash management;
    • Review and provide guidance on improving the financial or accounting related processes;
    • Monitor the implementation of TL SAS holding budget, especially the HO expenses;
  • Organize the interim review and annual audit work:
    • Engagement of the Auditor;
    • Review the financial statements prepared by the external accounting service provider;
    • Organization of the impairment test, ensure the quality of the legal supporting documentation and particularly the preparation of the Management Report;
  • Organize and follow up on the annual session budget for each assets of the portfolio for approval at Board of Directors level;
  • Assist on risk management and financial internal control implementation and control on terminal assets;
  • Assist on the financial analysis on the feasibility of business development in financial perspectives;
  • Other financial topic required by Terminal Link shareholders.

 

Cross-functional missions:

  • Perform financial analysis to support certain decision-making processes and financial control (IRR, valuation, cash flow projection, breakeven calculation…);
  • Participate on cross-functional topics in coordination with numerous internal departments within CMA CGM as follows: accounting, legal, cash, procurement, tax department, cost savings;
  • Take part of internal legal restructuring;
  • Lead projects and elaborate financial models for business development and/ or entrance of new partner regarding your scope of assets: analyze project market, define and budget required due diligences, review assumptions, pilot expert team efforts (technical, legal, financial, insurance, etc.), coordinate Port Authority/Partners requests, assist in leading negotiations.

 

 

PROFILE AND QUALIFICATIONS

 

 

  • Master's degree in Finance or Business/Engineering with solid financial skills (DSCG equivalent);
  • 5 years’ experience in Audit or in Transaction Services with a strong accounting component or in a financial department (controlling) in a company;
  • You are familiar with French GAAP as well as IFRS and mandatory legal framework like Sapin II;
  • You speak and write perfectly in English and French;
  • You have particularly good skills of Excel, ability to effectively analyze large data sets;
  • Knowledge of consolidated reporting tools such as HFM Compass or One stream or accounting tools Oracle (Ocean R11), Lisa Finance or even IFS would be a plus;
