Intra-Asia Pricing Intern

CHENG LIE Navigation Company (CNC Line) is a leader in intra-Asia trade. Subsidiary of the CMA CGM Group, CNC Line offers personalized services and has specific expertise in the transport of containers with temperature control (refrigerated containers or Reefers).

Summary
This role will allow the incumbent to understand and experience the process and workflow of CMA CGM's Intra Asia Trade exports out of specific Asia country(s) or region to Asia region. He/she will be attached to the Digital Product team and will assist in analyzing and optimizing pricing strategy for the Intra Asia Markets, as well as support cross function activities.

Objectives
•    To gain understanding of the Company, its intra-Asia brand CNC, customer, product goals, and all other aspects of the service.
•    To familiarize yourself with internal software systems (i.e. LISA, LARA, AQUA, Qlik sense)
•    To develop an appreciation for analysis of maritime metrices
•    To identify and improve existing workflows for increased efficiency.

 
Main Responsibilities:
•    Assist in the department’s daily functions and discover the daily workflow of a trade function.
•    Engage with commercial team in managing of customer allocations.
•    Study and propose recommendations to improve current workflows.
•    Research impact of competitors’ services on CMA CGM's dedicated Short Sea services and present findings to relevant stakeholders. 
•    Monitor and track Country’s loading performance closely to ensure weekly allocation have been filled up and highlight periodical changes to respective stakeholders.
•    Evaluate cargo mix on all Short Sea services and present during weekly pricing meetings.
•    Assist in preparing any ad-hoc reports upon request.

Minimum Requirements: 
•    Ability to commit at least 3 months – full time internship or 3 times a week on part time basis for 3 to 6 months
•    Proficiency in MS Excel (i.e. vlookup/pivot table)
•    Possess good verbal and written communication
•    Proactive and team player
•    Organized and detail oriented. 
•    Able to analyze data and derive insights.
