Job Summary
Manage the movement of export cargo after booking to ensure that the customer will deliver cargo and related documentation within the established timeframes and is available and ready for loading on vessels. Coordinate container, booking, and documentation activities with other departments such as Bookings, Cargo Flow, Equipment, Logistics, Operations, and customers to achieve full vessels with reduced booking fall-down and timely delivery of export cargo.
Communicate with customers and other departments to determine the following:
- Cargo will be utilized for a given voyage or be rolled or canceled.
- Documentation is received and complete.
- Information and documentation are accurate and up to date in LARA and at the terminal.
Accountabilities
- Track, monitor, and follow up on timely delivery of cargo by customers, local & rail customers.
- Follow up with customers for timely delivery of documentation. Ensure all export cargo meets regulatory requirements in place for each service.
- Manage shipment follow-up and call cleaning based upon cargo documentation delivery.
- Coordinate with Cargo Flow and take actions to ensure clean load lists at the time of cut.
- Manage documentation & terminal cuts; provide direction to other teams to ensure accuracy in LARA including reconciliation of issues and problems.
- Proactively contact the sales team and customers with falls-downs or missing shippers for any given sailing to react effectively to ensure full vessels. Work with the sales team to ensure a cooperative and coordinated focus.
- Coordinate late gate requests.
- Work with multiple layers of network, terminal, & operational departments, both internal and external.
- Assist in identifying non-standard operational costs, ensuring all applicable charges are properly billed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school degree or equivalent required.
- 2+ years industry experience preferred.
- Typing 35 wpm (proficiency to be tested).

Additional Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree or some college coursework preferred.
- Experience in the transportation industry is preferred.
