Manager, Import Service Delivery

The Import Service Delivery Manger is responsible for ensuring compliance of all Inbound Vessel Close daily tasks, overseeing the CSI Desk, and Cross Border Desk. The Manager should serve as the Customs liaison and attend CESAC meetings to stay up to date on policies and procedures set forth by Customs Border Protection. The Manger is responsible for staff development, training and mentoring as well as monitoring staffing levels and attendance to ensure adequate staffing at all times. Provides feedback, coaching and mentoring to Support Managers and Team. Identify process barriers, process improvement opportunities and assist in streamlining scope to allow for better efficiencies.

 

Ensure federal ocean carrier regulatory guidelines

for US are understood and adhered to by all CCA

& APL departments. Number of repeat regulatory violations issued to CCA & APL in a calendar year.

Advanced penalty avoidance skills and well as

penalty mitigation abilities Cost saving to CA and customers as well as maintaining our extremely high standard of compliance with CBP and other government agencies.

Ability to direct and guide team members as

needed in providing timely, consistent and accurate

action/responses to internal and external customer

requirements regarding LARA, regulatory issues

and arrival notices.

Customer satisfaction. Regulatory violation avoidance.

Ability to develop and maintain strong working

relationship with other carriers as well as misc.

government agency representative

 

Regular participation at CESAC and CANFED meetings. Participation on CBP voluntary and appointed committees and interaction as member with World Shipping Council initiatives/inquiries

 

Manage daily operation of the Import Documentation group by ensuring all documentation tasks are

performed in alignment with company policy and governmental regulations; Monitor service failures

resulting in demurrage costs to ensure corrective action is taken. 

Accountable for continuous process improvement, monitoring performance and achieving clearly

defined Key Performance Indicators.

Work directly with CCA legal department to avoid or resolve any issue that threaten CCA

compliance position or monetary advancement. Monitor all customs fines received as a result of CCA

& APL errors to ensure proper procedures are in place; provide Customs with any requested

information for Customs audits; Attend CESAC meeting. 

Communicate with internal and external customers, as well as other business units to ensure cargo

moves expeditiously. 10%

Manage colaborations with the shared Service Center management to ensure all functions are

completed within company standards while meeting deadlines. 

Provide weekly and monthly KPI metrics. 

Provide mentoring and coaching to IBVC Support Mgrs and staff including employee recognition. 

MISCELLANEOUS RELATED DUTIES or PROJECTS AS ASSIGNED

 

Work collaboratively with internal and external customers to expedite releases and serve as resource and liaison for customs compliance, terminal, and vessel issues.

 

Team is responsible for verifying all carrier requirements are met and all government releases are in place prior to the release of import cargo. Work closely with CBP regarding all Customs discrepancies. Daily

Operations Coordinate releases in terminal systems, guaranteeing charges back to the terminal and work with operations on discrepancies. Daily

Customer Service Collaborate with customer service to address customer issues related to IBVC processes. Daily

SSC / Equipment Update Collaborate and support Import SSC Team regarding import cargo and arrival notifications.

 

Preferred Education Bachelor’s Degree / Certified Customs Broker

General Experience 1-5 Years

Industry Experience 3 -5 Years
