YOUR ROLE

The Air Export Supervisor - Aerospace directs and coordinates the activities of the  department to achieve optimal efficiency and customer service, operational economy, and maximize profits by performing the following duties personally or through team members.

 

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, in addition to the duties and responsibilities of an operational agent when required for the efficient and smooth running of the department. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Develop and provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers at all times.
  • Provide responsible supervision and control for all departmental activities. Assist in the retention and training efforts of staff and of customers. Conduct meetings with staff to assess group’s overall status, discuss ideas for improvement and inform staff of new developments. Address all employee performance problems promptly and directly in accordance with personnel policies.
  • Oversee performance statistics. Review and monitor shipment documentation for accuracy. Examine various documents including invoices, bills of lading, and shipping statements to ensure compliance with federal and foreign regulations governing the shipment, receipt, and documentation of imported/exported products.
  • Identify areas of concern in clients’ export processes through monitoring of team performance against company and client standards, regular audit of shipment documents and accounting, and periodic client reviews.
  • Communicate and coordinate with Branch Manager and Air Export Manager regarding progress and problems or issues. Maintain flexible work schedule include outside normal business hours and after hours on call rotation as needed
  • Effectively participate in and/or supervise department projects related to assigned area of responsibility. 

 

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directly supervises 2 - 6 employees within the Air Export Aerospace Team 
  • Assists the Branch Manager in the coordination, direction and evaluation of this unit. 
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Ensure and monitor team compliance to the CEVA’s Code of Conduct and Company’s regulations
  • Ensure team understanding and implementation on CEVA’s Value in daily work behaviors
  • Plan and monitor team performance including coaching and counselling needed to deliver expected outcomes
  • Plan and monitor team development together with HR department
  • Ensure all changes in Department / Section are implemented and communicated properly to the team

 

QHSE

  • Participate in the set-up and follow-up of internal standard procedures to enhance productivity and transparency
  • Maintain acceptable Health, Safety and Environmental risk levels in his/her area of responsibility
  • Ensure the compliance with applicable legal requirements        

 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED, Minimum four years related experience. Minimum one year supervisory experience; Bachelor’s Degree in International Business, Logistics or Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Finance or related discipline preferred or equivalent combination of work experience and education. Five+ years of industry experience preferred.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively in front of groups of customers or employees of organization.  Additional languages a plus but not required.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.  Common sense, curiosity, creativity, and a strong work ethic are the basics of success in this role.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Working knowledge of ITAR, Import Brokerage, Export Compliance, Hazmat Regulations and recordkeeping; Some professional certifications may be required.
