YOUR ROLE
Are you curious about data, enjoy solving problems and want to understand how numbers can help a business make better decisions?
We’re looking for a Data Analyst Apprentice to join our Ground & Rail Finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with real business data while completing a Level 4 Data Analyst Apprenticeship.
You’ll work alongside experienced Finance and Data colleagues, supporting the development of BI dashboards, financial reporting and reconciliation activities. You’ll learn how to take raw data from multiple systems, including SAP and JDE, and turn it into accurate, reliable and meaningful information for stakeholders across North-West Europe.
This is an 18-month fixed-term contract, combining on-the-job experience with formal apprenticeship learning.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
- Production of financial reporting and BI for the North-West Europe Finance team, helping to turn financial data into clear and useful reporting.
- Monthly data extracts, ensuring information is accurately prepared and submitted within agreed deadlines.
- Supporting the development and production of subcontractor spend BI, helping the Finance team understand and analyse expenditure across NWE.
- Providing financial reconciliation and reporting support to Business Partners and Financial Controllers, helping to identify and resolve discrepancies in financial data.
- Responding to ad-hoc data requests from the wider NWE Finance team and helping stakeholders access the information they need.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
You don’t need to have years of experience in data, this is an apprenticeship designed to develop your skills and launch your career.
- A genuine interest in data analysis, Business Intelligence and working with data.
- Naturally curious and enjoys working with numbers and information.
- Logical and analytical, with a structured approach to solving problems.
- Interested in understanding how data can be used to improve business performance.
- Able to present information and explain findings in a clear and straightforward way.
- A clear and confident communicator, both verbally and in writing.
- Comfortable working with different stakeholders and building relationships.
WHAT DO WE HAVE TO OFFER?
With a genuine culture of reward and recognition, we want our employees to grow, develop and be part of our journey. We offer a benefits package that includes competitive annual leave entitlement with a fantastic holiday buy scheme, pension and life assurance along with access to an employee benefits platform that offers discounts on gym memberships and money off vouchers for a diverse range of retail, travel and hospitality brands. There’s no doubt that you will be compensated for your hard work and commitment so if you’d like to work for one of the top Logistics providers in the world then please do get in touch to find your next role.
