YOUR ROLE
- In this role, you will work closely with suppliers to negotiate contracts and ensure timely delivery of goods and services. You will also be responsible for managing budgets and ensuring all purchases are within company guidelines. Attention to detail is critical to success in this role, as is the ability to analyze data to make informed purchasing decisions
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
- Coordinating purchasing activities for transportation services, such as freight and shipment services, vehicles, fuel products, and maintenance and repair services
- Ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of transportation-related goods and services, while maintaining quality standards of products and services.
- Analyzing market trends, supplier performance, and transportation costs to identify opportunities for cost savings, risk mitigation, and process improvement.
- Developing and managing relationships with vendors and suppliers, monitoring their financial stability, quality of products and services, and adherence to contractual obligations.
- Communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders, such as senior management, clients, and regulatory agencies, to ensure transparency, accountability, and compliance with requirements.
- Leading and supervising a team of purchasing and logistics professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and customer service.
- Conducting regular audits of purchasing processes and transactions, applying best practices and compliance standards, and ensuring adherence to ethical and legal guidelines.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Having at least 5 years of experience in customs, domestics trucking and cross border trucking for 3Pls
- Having experience working with transportation providers, such as freight brokers, carriers, and trucking companies.
