YOUR ROLE
We are looking for a new Project Engineer to join our Warehouse location in Zaandam. As a Project Engineer, youwill be responsible for driving operational improvement projects within the warehouse and leading implementationprojects for (new) customers. Your innovative ideas and advice will help our departments work more effectivelyand efficiently, and you will play a direct role in our success!

WHAT ARE YOU DOING?
As a Project Engineer, you will collaborate with fellow Engineers and other colleagues on a variety of projects withvarying levels of complexity. These projects may include optimizing the current warehouse layout, analyzing andreporting data to enable data-driven operations, support the making of business cases for strategic managementdecisions like the use of automation, improving operational processes and possibly assisting with theimplementation of new customers. Basic knowledge of budgeting, profit and loss and financial statements will playa key role in supporting project planning and decision-making.

  • Specifically, you will perform the following duties:
  • Identify desired changes by analyzing existing processes, procedures and systems;
  • Coordinating a (partial) implementation or improvement project;
  • Develop models for capacity, productivity, throughput time and other operational metrics;
  • Advising internal and external stakeholders;
  • Managing projects, including stakeholder engagement, timeline coordination, budget oversight, reporting andadministrative tasks.
  • You will be based at our warehouse location in Zaandam and report to the Engineering Lead, as part of the Operational Excellence department within the Area Mid-West. You have close contact with your fellow Engineers in Zaandam, and are willing to offer them support when needed. Monday to Friday are your workingdays and you are flexible in arranging your working hours within office hours (08:00-18:00). Working from home ispossible by mutual agreement (up to 1 day a week), but also traveling around within the Area is expected.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
The person we are looking for enjoys optimizing processes within a large logistics environment. You are skilled ataccurately processing, analyzing, and monitoring data. Since you will have frequent contact with differentcolleagues, we are looking for someone with strong communication skills. You are stress-resistant and have amindset focused on continuous improvement.
You deliver effective solutions by analyzing data and expert insights, identifying key issues and proposing practicalactions. You consistently develop practical procedures and ensure that tasks are completed through to aconclusion. You adopt a serious and questioning approach to assess situations and draw conclusions, based on aprocess view, facts and information gathered from others.

  • You will bring the following knowledge and experience, among others:
  • Minimum HBO (applied sciences) working and thinking level;
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience in logistics;
  • Experience with project-based work;
  • Proficiency in using automated systems (WMS, ERP tools, etc) and MS Office, particularly Excel;
  • Familiar with Power BI or data visualization tools;
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and the SCRUM framework is an advantage;
  • Good command of the English language is a requirement (the working language is English).

In addition, as a Project Engineer, you will receive the following from us:

  • A gross monthly salary between €3.149,41 and €4,801,13 and 8% holiday pay (grading depending on yourwork experience and level of education);
  • A one-year contract with the prospect of permanent employment;
  • Working conditions in accordance with our own CEVA CLA including 25 holidays and 5 ADV days on a full-time basis;
  • Profit distribution of up to 3% in the event of positive operating results and a good pension scheme;
  • A telephone and laptop;
  • Working hours are flexible, you own your own schedule and have the possibility to work from home (up to 1day a week).
