Port Operations Senior Manager

ROLE

 

Reporting to the Cluster General Manager, you will provide support and expertise for the development of port activities for CMA CGM Group within your Cluster. Your main mission is to coordinate, lead, pilot and supervise all activities of the Operations, Logistics and Intermodal department.

 

 

RESPONSABILITES 

 

  • Leading the Ship Operations team

 

- Define the general and specific objectives of the team

- Ensure the proper organization of the operations team and the training of its staff

- Ensures compliance with logging procedures and deadlines

- Ensure compliance with group procedures relating to ship calls and operations

- Supervise sensitive operations (OOG, reefers etc.)

- Ensure that the indicators requested by the management are kept

- Respond to questions from lines or HO regarding the port, terminal, and operations

- Carry out the necessary checks to ensure the smooth running of the team

- Ensure the proper execution of the department's cluster tasks including the management of export lists and the updating of the Transbo JLs

 

 

  • Leading the Intermodal & Logistics team

 

- Define the general and specific objectives of the team

- Ensure the proper organization of the logistics team and the training of its staff

- Ensure compliance with reporting procedures and deadlines.

- Coordinate and manage relations with the SSC.

- Leading the bi-monthly IDLE follow-up meetings and ensuring the updating of the equipment situation in LARA.

- Maintain and transmit port data in a timely manner

- Carry out the necessary checks to ensure the smooth running of the team

- Monitor BLD files and ensure compliance with procedures and timely re-routing of containers

- Ensure the proper execution of the department's cluster tasks

- Negotiate rates with service providers and prospect for new potential service providers

- Be a driving force behind any possible intermodal development

 

  • Interface and coordinate with lines, terminals and port authorities

 

- Respond to the expectations of the lines and the HO Operations & ILS department on the whole cluster

- Represent CMA CGM and CMA CGM Benin to the terminals and port authorities on the whole cluster and report to the GM or Deputy GM

- Coordinate any intervention of an external service related to our vessels or equipment

- Certify and validate invoices related to operations and logistics & intermodal

 

 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

 

You have a postgraduate degree (+5 years) in a Merchant Navy School or a master’s degree in Transport and Logistics as well as a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in maritime activities in a similar position.

You have developed a professional network in the maritime sector, allowing you to be legitimate internally and externally with partners.

You have a first successful experience in team management. You have good listening and communication skills and know how to work in a team.

Your interpersonal skills, your ability to persuade and your proactivity are your major assets to succeed in this position.

You have a strong capacity to adapt. You are compliant and have a big sense of responsibility. You can manage emergencies and crisis situations.

You are fluent in French and speak professional English. You are computer literate.
