Lean Manager

 

Terminal Link is a port operator used to develop, design, build and operate the terminal. It originated with a development strategy of providing terminals with a high quality service for every shipping company, optimising the financial value and profitability of each terminal and maintain a diverse customer portfolio.

 

 

 

The Role:


Terminal Des Flandres, subsidiary company of Terminal Link / CMA CGM, is the Container terminal of the Port of Dunkirk. 
Terminal Des Flandres is currently on a phase of accelerated growth (10% in 2020 and 40% in 2021), which is expected to continue over the next 5 or 10 years, with a middle-term target of 1.5 million Teus per year.
In this context, the company is engaged in an extensive process of reengineering of its operations, with the financial resources available and a strong support of its main stakeholders. To successfully manage this ambitious plan, Terminal des Flandres is now looking for the relevant talents, and in particular, an Operations LEAN Manager. 

 

 

Responsibilities:


-    Responsible and accountable for continuous improvement and efficiencies across the Company’s products, systems, operations and processes.
-    Support to the Operations team on the road to 1.5 MTUEs / year, improving the terminal efficiency through process optimization. 
-    Project Management of the terminal digitalization, PDS, IoT, BigData, BI etc.
-    Support the change of the TOS and in the implementation of IT-based monitoring systems,
-    Management and implementation of all Operational department projects (change of process) by developing an enthusiastic, motivated and flexible team and building working relationships ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to.

 


Profile and Qualifications:


-    Solid expertise in containers terminals Operational and Technical challenges, 
-    Project Management (Planning, Budget & Monitoring, Procurement, 3rd parties’ coordination, …), 
-    Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making
-    Knowledge of Continuous improvement / Lean-like approaches, 
-    Capacity to challenge existing ways of work and propose pragmatic improvement projects

 

Profile:
-    Green Black Belt in Six Sigma or equivalent qualification or large demonstrate experience.
-    Significant experiences in the Shipping / Port business world,
-    Background in people management and project management 
-    Background in manufacturing and/or engineering environments
-    Background in PLC (siemens, ABB), IoT (NodeRed), BigData (Elasticsearch, oracle, etc), BI tools (Elastic, Tableau,  Power Bi, Qlik etc)
-    True Team player, connected daily to the Operations, Technical and Finance teams, 
-    Fluent English & French required.


Hierarchical position:
-    Direct report to the Operations Manager of Terminal des Flandres,
-    Functional reporting to Terminal Link / CMAT Holding
