Internship - Digital Office Project Officer (M/W)

Position Summary


The Assistant Digital Project Manager will be part of CMA CGM Digital Office. The role will report to the Vice President & Group Chief Digital Officer. In collaboration with business departments, the Digital PM will be responsible for selecting digital solutions around key technologies (AI/Machine Learning, Blockchain, IoT, Digital channels & ecommerce, robotic process automation, …) to respond to business painpoints. He/she will also support the CMA CGM Digital strategy and work closely with the Group Chief Digital Officer on specific strategic missions. The intend of this mission is to become an identified potential leader that can drive digital transformation across the business at all levels.


About CMA CGM Digital Office


CMA CGM Digital Office is part of the Digital Department which includes three teams: Digital Office, Digital Agency (eCommerce) and Digital Factory. Digital Office core team is based in Marseilles with Regional Project Managers located in North & South America, Asia and Africa.

CMA CGM Digital Office mission statement is to create a unifying digital vision and identify and select solutions as well as processes for the next digital age of the Group.

This mission is achieved by leveraging the latest technology trends; sourcing best practices from other industries; sourcing best solutions to respond to business painpoints teaming up with CMA CGM key business departments: Lines, Commercial & Agency Network, Supply Chain & Logistics, Intermodal, Operations and ships; enabling Data, Transformation, Innovation & IT as key partners for execution and realization of projects.


Position Responsibilities


  • Understands context and basic question(s) to be resolved quickly. Be able to draw an issue tree that covers the full problem.
  • Instigates and shapes a received request in order that the necessary information can be gathered to make an informed decision to further pursue or reject (Discover Gate).
  • Look at market trends and best practices on a continuous basis.
  • Identify, assess and benchmark solutions in relationship with business needs.
  • Ensures projects execution only start when they can be delivered in the right way, with the necessary resources and a high chance of successfully delivering value to the business. Scope, Time, Cost, Value are all right. (Execution Gate) when needed.
  • Demonstrates curiosity about digital topics (reads articles, watches MOOCs, ask questions…).
  • Demonstrates ability to manage tasks and assist on larger efforts. Understands strategic aspects of the Digital Group.
  • Is able to create highly qualitative presentations for senior and executive management.
  • Is receptive to feedback from Business Departments, peers and others. Asks for help before challenges turn into problems. Is responsive to others’ requests and follows-up with completion status on time. Maintains positive attitude and engages in any task with enthusiasm.



Skills & Qualifications


You excel in solving problems using clear strategic and creative thinking, and you want to put your skills to work – transforming organizations. You have a passion for Digital and an entrepreneurial spirit.

  • Gap year or Final year Master from a Business or Engineering school
  • Previous internship(s) in at least one of the following digital expertise (AI/Machine Learning, Blockchain, IoT, Digital channels & ecommerce, robotic process automation, …) is appreciated
  • Strong analytical abilities both quantitative and qualitative
  • Excellent PowerPoint Skills with exceptional design capabilities
  • Ability to present information in an insightful and structured manner, both written and oral
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
  • Demonstrated fluency with English speaking and writing skills; proficiency with other languages such as French is a plus
  • Experience in Shipping / Supply chain is a plus but not mandatory
  • Eligibility and willingness to work in Marseilles, France

Financial assistance may be paid to the student to reimburse his home-school trips (up to 200e per month maximum)
