Financial Control Senior Manager

THE ROLE

 

You ensure the timely and accurate production of monthly reports, periodic consolidated reports and statutory reports of the shipping subsidiaries.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Leading proper implementation of financial processes for subsidiaries as per core model by ensuring clear split of role and responsibilities between the different stakeholders in regional offices, shared service centers and local subsidiaries in collaboration with Finance Transformation teams,
  • Leading Finance projects for the financial control team: ensure proper coordination between project managers in HO and finance teams in the network (regions & shared service centers)
  • Collaborating with Internal Control Department for the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and internal controls, as needed;
  • Defining and monitoring KPI allowing to ensure proper efficiency in accounting process;
  • Leading the implementation of new technical accounting guidance and training
  • Leading the evaluation of all significant accounting transactions

 


PROFILE AND QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Minimum 15 years of experience working in technical accounting/finance is required
  • Similar position within international corporation such as CAC40 and SBF120 companies. Experience in audit firm (Big 4), public company and SOX and/or equivalent guidance helpful
  • Demonstrate a strategic, focused and collaborative approach at your work
  • Strong leadership and management skills with an ability to lead teams across multiple organizations (Head office in Marseilles, regional offices, shared Services Centers in India, China, Beirut) and multiple geographies
  • Strong communication skills, including an ability to translate complex technical issues into fundamental concepts. Creative problem solving skills with the ability to motivate others to implement new solutions in a context of an in-depth transformation project which will lead to a new organization, an overhaul of the existing process and the implementation of a new IT system
  • Strong relationship-building skills to create and maintain effective working relationships with all finance departments. Ability to work in a matrixed model, maintaining relationships with key partners at various levels
  • Advanced understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and the ability to apply GAAP to new and existing transactions and proven ability to document and support accounting conclusions
