Internship-Studies Officer

This is a 6-month internship based in Marseille to start ideally between January and March 2024.
COMPANY AND MISSION
Pulse is aimed at accelerating the decarbonization of the CMA CGM Group by investing in startups and industrial projects, as well as supporting internal projects.
As a member of PULSE, CMA CGM Energy Fund, you will assist the team in identifying and monitoring new investment opportunities for the fund as well as supporting the follow-up of PULSE portfolio.
The role also includes general studies on overall sectors and segments linked to the group decarbonation strategy.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Director of PULSE, you will be integrated to the team made up of complementary profiles (engineers, bankers, …).
You will be responsible for collecting and monitoring the deal flow (internal and external), keeping a watch on the sector and assist the teams in analyzing investment opportunities for direct and indirect investments.
This includes but is not limited to :
- Be actively involved in managing the deal flow
- Assist in the appraising of investments: organization and participation to conference calls, reviewing business plans, reviewing information memorandums, execution of due diligences, drafting investment notes
- Follow-up past investments from PULSE portfolio and related news
- Conducting market studies, attending to conferences, etc
- Assist in the preparation of various investment committees (CxO level)
You will also answer to capital calls from indirect participation in which Pulse has invested (fund of fund).
You will also be responsible to prepare and improve PULSE internal regular reporting to top management (creation of tools, etc).
PROFILE AND SKILLS
• You are currently studying for a Master's degree in energy or economics/finance. You ideally have experience in leading and coordinating projects in an international context.
• Your English and French are fluent, both written and spoken. You have a perfect command of computer tools, particularly Excel and Power Point.
• Thanks to your interpersonal and communication skills, you are able to implement effective coordination actions.
• Reactive, you use your listening skills, your adaptability and your ability to synthesize for the benefit of a quick and quality production.
