Operations Manager fleet deployment (M/F)

You will be part of group assets direction, with a specific focus on Fleet deployment. It includes identifying and monitoring all vessels’ movements in order to execute the target fleet plan of the year. You will have to analyze the costs and reduce any idling time, identify any potential under/over utilization and develop the concept of “Best vessel for...” You will be asked to publishing/maintain the overall Group Fleet Deployment Plan optimality. You will participate with other departments for developing new software and tools.




You will mainly be responsible for the budget fleet planning and daily follow up of its execution with the lines and all involved departments. You will have to cope with the daily disruption to the fleet plan by finding alternative plans. Your daily tasks will be including but not limited to  :

  • Identifying all potential phasing in/out to execute the target fleet plan
  • Calculating repositioning costs in order to optimize the fleet deployment cost
  • Maintaining a Shipyard planning for Ships technical stoppages (DD, retrofit…)
  • Maintaining New Buildings’ deliveries schedule 
  • Identifying potential spot or structural utilization of ships
  • Minimizing idling time and optimizing vessels’ utilization
  • Develop the concept of “best vessel for…”
  • Propose improvement plans while maintaining the Group Fleet Deployment plan
  • Write processes
  • Participate in IT projects of the FD team




  • Attention to detail and a highly organized, process-focused aptitude are required to manage the variety of responsibilities and deliverables
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver to continual deadline constraints is essential
  • One team mind set. Simplicity, ability to demonstrate continuous improvement in processes, excellent conceptualization, and analytical skills 
  • Computer literate & IT minded
  • Experience in vessel operations or in liner environment is required
  • Technical vessel knowledge is preferred
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English required, and other language capability a plus
  • Minimum 2-5 years international shipping experience
  • Operational experience is required
  • Liner experience in a business unit required
  • Master’s degree diploma or equivalent is a must
