Senior Cloud Platform Engineer

Reporting to the Head of Cloud Technical Office (CTO), the Senior Cloud Platform Engineer is positioned as the technical referent for cloud platforms. As such, this is a role for a truly collaborative leader who values the inter/intra team culture. He/she works closely with cloud architects to provide expert technical advice, strategy and technical leadership in the utilization of the cloud services offered. He/she is responsible for designing and building scalable, available and secure architecture solutions, based on Architectural standards, availability of services, cost, network, security, storage and governance considerations.




As Senior Cloud Platform Engineer within the Cloud Technical Office, you will have to :

  • Guide and coache less experienced peers to become more productive and effective team members
  • Work in collaboration with CMA CGM cloud players around the world. Work in collaboration with the Security team to ensure technical guidance is in line with CMA-CGM security requirements. More generally, proactively engage with other Service Teams
  • Contribute to design and Implement solutions based on Architectural best practices, industry standards and AWS Well Architected Framework
  • Provide guidance on most aspects of AWS Cloud infrastructure offerings
  • Deliver and support Cloud Architecture solution, based on defined standards for Cloud Transformation Department - from an Application and Infrastructure perspective
  • Deliver large architectural initiatives that solve key customer needs
  • Design, develop and continuously optimize on Cloud platform
  • Provide Cloud Platform level solutions for implementation of the re-architect of large existing applications on the cloud to AWS but also for implementation of Lift and shift of existing on-premises applications to AWS
  • Provide Cloud Platform level solutions for implementation of Ingres and Egress data to and from AWS
  • Provide input to the Engineers team for implementation of codified stacks that meet the needs of the applications and the design of reference Architecture
  • Participate in the development of a community of Cloud Champions across the organization.



Required :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent
  • You have significant experience in IT (7 years) and in particular advanced experience on AWS
  • Ideally you have experience in a similar Tech Lead position
  • Experience of working in an Agile/Scrum environment
  • Deep understanding of Cloud computing technologies and workload transition challenges
  • Knowledge of AWS Well Architected Framework and Cloud migration industry standards and best practices
  • Technical writing skills for documenting environments and procedures
  • Deep experience with Cloud computing technologies and workload transition challenges
  • You are a team player but know how to work independently
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize deadlines
  • You have significant experience with CI/CD pipelines in a DevOps environment
  • You have good communication skills and you are at ease with a team (exchange and active listening)
  • You like to research and propose technical solutions to meet business needs
  • Ability towards learning new technologies. Continuously strives to learn new technologies and make time for self-development
  • You have a good mastery of :
  • Linux systems
  • Shell language
  • Git version management tool
  • Infrastructure deployment tools Terraform, CloudFormation
  • Network concepts of routing and firewall
  • Monitoring and alerting concepts
  • CI/CD tools Jenkins and GitlabCI
  • AWS services 
  • Fluent in English


  • AWS and/or Azure certification (AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or better Professional)
  • Knowledge of containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
  • Knowledge of database systems (SQL and NoSQL)
