Human Resources Co-Op / Intern

Position Summary

The human resources (HR) intern completes administrative duties for the CMA CGM North American team. The student will learn how to assist the team with creating requisitions, maintain employee records, and provide support to all employees.

 

Responsibilities

  • Creates and route job requisitions for approvals to hiring managers and HR Business Partners (HRBPs)
  • Assists HRBPs and Managers with exit process administrative tasks
  • Administers data and documentation in employee personnel files and HRIS systems.  Audit for accuracy and coordinate with stakeholders to troubleshoot inaccuracies.
  • Assists HRBP’s with administrative employment-related processes as requested
  • Updates and produce standardized reporting as requested
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Pursuing a BSc/BA in Business Administration or relevant field preferred; additional education in Human Resource Management is desired
  • Desire to learn about the shipping and supply chain industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Working understanding of human resource principles, practices and procedures.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Knowledge of human resources processes and best practice.
