Supervisor, Collections

Position Summary


Supervise all collection efforts for 1st and 3rd party to minimize past due accounts and ensure CCA collects as much debt as possible.   Monitor staff and provide assistance to ensure collection goals are met.  Coach and develop team to improve performance and output.  Supervise vendor relationship with outsourced collection partner to ensure collection targets are met.  Identify reporting and propose new processes to increase efficiencies and reduce manual work. 


Position Responsibilities


  • Supervise the Company’s receivables, including all tasks done by internal staff and outsourced vendor, to meet daily/weekly/monthly collection targets to minimize past due invoices and maximize collections.  Research and resolve issues with invoices which may result in unpaid receivables.  Monitor outstanding debt to drive collection goals.  Create and maintain positive relationships with customers who are contacted for payment.  
  • Lead team of collectors; provide coaching and performance feedback, report on and monitor individual’s work, to ensure KPIs are met.   
  • Identify reporting and other opportunities to streamline or automate manual work, using Excel and/or other corporate systems.  Create and implement new processes and procedures to create efficiencies within the team. 
  • Communicate company developments, policies and procedures.  Review and approve timesheets for staff and process Paid Time Off requests while ensuring department is covered.  Ensure all time sheets are processed accurately and on time. 
  • Miscellaneous related duties or projects as assigned


Skill Sets / Education & Experience Requirements (Required)


  • Associate’s Degree and 1-2 years industry experience
  • Expert knowledge of the ocean container shipping industry 
  • Exceptional skills in MS Excel:  including pivot tables, v-lookups, and graphing functions 
  • Understand service contracts 
  • Clear understanding of other departments process  
  • Knowledge of credit and collections 
  • Able to build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers 
  •  Good conflict resolution skills 
  •  Strong attention to detail 
  • Strong communication skills 
  • Strong analytical skills 


Skill Sets / Education & Experience Requirements (Preferred)


  • Bachelor’s Degree
