Analyst/Specialist, Detention & Demurrage Controller

Reporting to the Detention & Demurrage Manager, the Analyst/Specialist will be required to perform tasks such as D&D Performance, Monitoring, Audits & Missions.

Demurrage & Detention Performance
•    Establish and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including Head Office – France and local agencies.
•    Communicate D&D Budget and follow up with Countries to achieve targets.
•    Conduct country analysis to understand D&D trends by country (Billed, collected, cycle time measurement). Be able to explain the evolution of the activities.
•    Track and follow up the gaps between Target and Realization and take appropriate actions. Detect deterioration of performance as soon as possible. 
Demurrage & Detention Monitoring
•    Follow up D&D ageing balance and push for improvements accordingly to the targets.
•    Follow up the D&D standards executed by the respective Agencies. If deviations from Group policy/ Asia Regional Office recommended process are detected, follow up with agencies to push for improvements/ alignments where possible.
•    Follow up the type of tariff (general or special) applied and the impact of the unit revenue to challenge commercial decisions.
•    Monitor Invoice Timeliness and push for improvements accordingly to the target.  
•    Monitor TBI (to be invoiced) and Rejected INVOICES are cleared/solved within appropriate deadline.
•    Actively seek for system development and reporting tools (dashboard/ reports) to support our growth and monitoring of KPIs achievements.
Demurrage & Detention Audit and Missions
•    Conduct audit on-site in the respective agencies under your scope. (If on-site is not possible due to travel restrictions/ COVID situation, conduct off-site audit).
•    Prepare the audit report and respective follow up to close audit findings.
•    Understand your assigned countries and D&D processes.
•    Participate in communication meetings with agencies. 
•    Organize weekly/monthly meetings with agencies to coordinate with different stakeholders involved.
•    Other relevant ad-hoc tasks, as and when assigned.
•    Any relevant Diploma or Degree
•    Preferably with at least 3 years of working experience in the container shipping / freight-forwarding industry.
•    Analytical and process-oriented mindset.
•    Good communication and interpersonal skills.
•    Problem solving, troubleshooting and data analysis skills.
•    Able to deal with ambiguity, complexities and interested in understanding system and workflow/ processes.
•    Meticulous and detail oriented. 
•    Active team player, self-starter, and multitasker who can quickly adjust priorities.
•    Microsoft office proficiency – PowerPoint and Advance Excel (such as PIVOT TABLE, NESTED IF, VLOOKUP, create charts, templates/ models).
•    Willingness to learn and maintaining a positive attitude under fast-paced work environment.
