Senior Manager, Operations Systems

This position is responsible for managing the team performing agility/cost effectiveness studies as well as business process and systems support for the APAC Region Operations.


Primary accountabilities include:

  • Driving cost savings and/or network efficiency by performing agility studies, executing approved action items and monitoring compliance
  • Reviewing existing Asia Regional Operations Business Processes to identify areas for improvement/automation and capturing new processes, as required
  • Managing the team handling Vessel Voyage Performance System (V2PS) deployment, training and support for all vessels operated by CMA CGM Group
  • Working on any adhoc projects, as required

  • On schedule implementation of Operations Systems projects,
  • Timely V2PS support to vessel crew


Key Accountabilities/Duties


  • Ensure that agility studies are comprehensive and completed within required timeline
  • Continuously drive improvement in the various upstream & downstream operations processes
  • Plan, Organize and lead business and joint business/IT teams as required to develop user requirements to meet Business requirements for Asia Regional Office Operations departments
  • Act as APAC business lead and/or subject matter expert for Head Office reference on any business questions, processes, concerns or issues related to APAC operations systems/processes
  • Ensure business needs (current & future) are properly represented to Head Office/IT through proper assessment, co-ordination and prioritization
  • Manage CMA CGM System Integration efforts in APAC to support Asia Regional Office Operations processes including for Line Ops, Stowage, Dangerous Cargo, Terminal Ops, Cargoflow, Pool domains
  • Owning, driving and managing operations systems projects, including capturing well-defined business requirements from the relevant operations stakeholders and communicating the business requirements to the internal IT Team/external vendors to ensure the timely delivery of relevant developments/application releases
  • Owning Asia Regional Office Standard Operating Processes in Signavio and ensuring that processes are current and comprehensive
  • Providing long term support to Asia Regional Office and APAC agencies for operations systems including vessel loading programs (e.g. Stowman), EDI Bayplan transmissions, PRS, HARP, V2PS
  • Preparing annual Asia Regional Office Operations overheads Budget




  • Degree and above, disciplines in IT or Maritime Business are preferable
  • Minimum 10 years working experience, at least 5 in a managerial role. Significant prior working experience in Shipping, with good understanding of liner operations systems and Bayplan EDI
  • Hands-on experience in project management
  • Experience with conducting cost savings studies will be an advantage
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Problem solver, with strong analytical skills and persuasive
  • Competent in Office suite (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Visio. Qliksense experience is a plus)
