Sr. Manager Marine Operations

Present in more than 120 countries, CMA CGM Logistics CMA CGM Logistics is also the supply, receipt, storage, order preparation, customs, transport to production sites (or via platforms).


Position Summary:

 ­­­­­­­­­­­This position will manage day to day Marine operations for US East Coast.


This position will be responsible to:

  • Coordinate, oversee and order stevedore labor, tugs and pilots for all CMA CGM operated vessels
  • Liaise with HO, terminals and stevedores on coastal schedules and or stowage issues. 
  • Inform boarding agent of vessel schedule, bunkers or crew issues as needed.  Keep the Captain informed of operations schedule.
  • Monitor, validate and approve all related port, stevedoring, tug and pilot invoices
  • Liaise with local port offices on both CMA CGM and partner allocations in order to compile load lists and order the needed cranes for vessel operations. 
  • Coordinate with HO, Equipment, Trade and Cargo Flow departments to maximize vessel space and empty lifts as needed.
  • Prepare cost estimations as requested by Trade for Break bulk project cargo, yachts etc.
  • Reconcile after ops to ensure all costs are covered.
  • Attend CMA CGM vessels while in port to meet with vessel command to ensure coastal schedule optimization
  • Miscellaneous related duties or projects as assigned


Skill Sets / Education & Experience Requirements:


  • High School Diploma
  • 5-10 years of industry experience
  • Hazardous Certification
  • Proficiency in computer skills to include Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate with Stevedores, Terminals and Vessel Captains in a professional manner
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet the labor order deadlines
  • Ability to board vessels
  • Be available after hours and weekends while vessels are working
  • Available to travel when necessary
  • Basic understanding of Shipping
  • Solid working knowledge of Marine/Terminal Operations
  • Proficiency in computer skills to include Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    Preferred Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
