THE ROLE:

 

Managing the operations, administrative affairs and teams of the logistics platform.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1. Supervising and managing teams:

  • Manage staff schedules: on-call duty, absences
  • Check employees' skills, qualifications and knowledge to ensure they are fit to carry out operations

 

2. Manage operational activities

  • Guarantee the compliance of logistics flows and the resources used
  • Guarantee the integrity of transport operations (administrative and physical)
  • Train employees in new practices and processes

 

3. Manage the logistics platform's budget:

  • Supervise stock and purchasing management
  • Validate expenditure and purchases in accordance with commitment rights
  • Manage the logistics platform's overall functional budget.

 

4. Manage customers' commercial offers:

  • Aligning the resources available internally or from external service providers to meet requirements
  • Meet customer needs and expectations
  • Communicating and passing on information to the relevant staff

 

5. Consultant and customs expert:

  • Manage and guarantee best practices and the implementation of customs procedures and operations
  • Communicate and represent CMA SHIPS to customs authorities


6. Manage the equipment and premises of the logistics platform:

  • Manage equipment maintenance in partnership with external service providers
  • Ensure that the equipment complies with current regulations and standards
  • Manage and control invoices relating to these expenses
  • Negotiate with our service providers to reduce operating costs

 

7. Ensuring the long-term future of the establishment:

  • Canvass internal (Group subsidiaries) and external customers for new contracts
  • Develop customer loyalty (internal and external)

 

8. Manage the parts stock in collaboration with the buyer:

  • Define a purchasing, sales and storage policy with the Purchasing Manager
  • Identify recurring parts, define minimum stock levels
  • Validate the purchase of parts
  • Maintenance of stock held for customers
  • Supervise inventories and control stocks with the logistics assistants
  • Meeting the needs of the accounting and audit departments.

 

To achieve your missions, you will have :

  • a CMA SHIPS delegation of authority as the legal representative of the logistics platform (head of secondary establishment)
  • a delegation of signature for expenses in accordance with company policy
  • a power of attorney for customs representation for operations carried out by CMA SHIPS
  • an occupational health and safety delegation.

 

 

PROFILE & COMPETENCIES:

  • BAC + 3 in logistics or equivalent
  • 6 years experience in a similar position, for a freight forwarder company or transport capacity certifier
  • Skills in team management, logistics information systems, pack office
  • Fluent in French & English
