The internship would take place in the scope of the Energy Transition and Green Ship R&D projects. 





Being advanced in naval architecture with a specialization in CFD, structure, innovative fuels or ship propulsion, the candidate will handle various subjects in connection with: 
-    Vessel hull and systems design 
-    New energies management, Hazid and Hazop studies 
-    Hydrodynamics and aerodynamics optimization 
-    Ship propulsion design 


The intern will be part of an expert team involved in CMA CGM R&D projects, including project managers, naval architects, engine and material technical experts... He will work closely with many partners and subcontractors involved in the design of a new low emission container vessel. 

During this mission he will oversee, depending on the progress of the project phases: 
-    Analysis of high frequency voyage data from similar size existing vessels to fine tune the ship numerical model 
-    Update the energy model of the new vessels along all design process; run multiple scenario analysis to assess the energy needs and improve the energy management 
-    Support the R&D team to manage the partners; writing technical specifications, selecting suppliers, following and commenting studies (CFD / FEM / powertrain analysis / design reports) performed by third parties. 
-    Interactions with class society from early stage to prepare for the new design’s AIP (Approval In Principle). 





To be graduated MSC degree in engineering (ENSTA, Centrale, Mines, ENSAM… ), with naval architecture training/experience/skills. 

Knowledge required: 
-    Naval architecture 
-    Ship’s propulsion 
-    CFD methods knowledge 
-    Structure and fatigue knowledge are a plus 

Working language is English, being French Speaker is a plus.
