Business Analyst

For the Containerships head office in Hamburg we are recruiting a Business Analyst (m/f/d).

 

The purpose of the Business Analyst role is to support the Land and Trade activity in the production of timely and useful information regarding the operational performance of the business. The job holder will then be required to convert the information into tangible action plans to drive improvements in operational cost and service to the benefit of our customers and our operating margins.

 

Your responsibilities include:

  • Drive forward improved fleet utilisation to promote better balance of business and match backs through am/pm split improvement
  • Improve our vendor management process to improve contract compliance through “Know your Supplier” actions
  • Carry out market analysis to improve understanding of market rates and competitor activity
  • Support Country Land Heads with bespoke reports relating to Landside business performance
  • Maintain accuracy of the CIO
  • Support the Rail Development Manager with analysis of rail performance
  • Benchmark the carbon footprint of our Land operations and recommend improvements
  • Undertake additional project-based analysis regarding best available routings and recommend improvements
  • Support TOPS rate analysis and margin management

 

You bring aboard:

  • Educated to degree level in Logistics or other relevant studies
  • First relevant work experience
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English
  • Strong analytical skills and conceptional thinking
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office applications
  • Understanding of cost management 
  • Highly numerate with experience of presenting complex data at a senior level
  • Ability to work on own initiative and under pressure
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships across all levels
