YOUR ROLE

 

Under the responsibility and authority of the QHSE Manager, the QHSE intern will be responsible for supporting the deployment, updating, and day-to-day implementation of a Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental Management System in compliance with international standards (ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001).

 

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

 

In collaboration with their supervisor, the QHSE Intern (he or she) will:

  • Assist in identifying, assessing, and managing risks related to the company’s activities by conducting regular audits and inspections;
  • Assist in preparing the audit schedule and ensuring its proper and diligent follow-up;
  • Assist in developing training plans for staff and subcontractors on safety and quality procedures, as well as environmental best practices, and ensure their effective implementation;
  • Assist in preparing and analyzing performance dashboards (KPIs) to evaluate results and propose necessary improvements;
  • Assist in managing hazardous situations and incidents by conducting investigations to determine root causes, proposing corrective and preventive actions, and ensuring follow-up of required actions;
  • Assist in maintaining incident records and communicating safety-related statistics;
  • Assist in monitoring regulatory changes in Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment, and ensure the company’s compliance with legal requirements;
  • Assist in deploying corrective actions following the identification of non-conformities within QHSE processes;
  • Assist in monitoring the effectiveness and efficiency of improvement actions within the management system (across all processes);
  • Assist in creating and updating documentation, tracking the effectiveness of corrective actions, and ensuring the efficiency and maturity of the system;
  • Support processes in managing their review meetings and ensure that actions decided are effectively implemented;
  • Provide day-to-day support to processes in the effective implementation of the system;
  • Assist in preparing data for management reviews;
  • Assist in awareness activities and support employees in successfully adhering to the management system;
  • Assist in carrying out daily inspections of facilities and equipment in order to report any non-conformities and hazardous situations identified;
  • Assist in data analysis and in proposing corrective and preventive actions to promote continuous improvement.

 

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (BAC+3) in QHSE or related field

Specific Knowledge

  • Good command of standard office tools (MS Office, etc.)
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification systems is an advantage
  • Basic knowledge of English is an asset
  • Experience in project management or internal auditing would be an advantage

  • Initial professional experience in a QHSE-related field is an asset
