ROLE
As Regional Operations Manager, you are responsible for ensuring the smooth, cost-effective and compliant execution of vessels and terminals operations across the region. You act as a key operational leader, guaranteeing service quality, schedule reliability, and the implementation of CMA CGM’s operational and strategic standards.
You support the Group’s performance ambitions through continuous optimization of port operations, cost control, and stakeholder coordination, while leading and developing a high-performing team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Ensure optimal execution of vessel rotations, in line with contractual, operational and service-level commitments.
· Monitor and improve performance KPIs (punctuality, cost efficiency, port call productivity), identifying operational risks and opportunities.
· Supervise port operations, terminal coordination, and husbandry activities, ensuring compliance with CMA CGM policies and local regulations.
· Act as key contact with internal stakeholders (Trade, Logistics, Documentation, Cargo Care, Cost Control…) and external partners (agencies, terminals, pilotage, port authorities).
· Review service provider contracts, ensuring optimal price/performance balance in alignment with Procurement and Cost Control.
· Conduct strategic analyses of port networks and operational models to support regional decision-making and improve competitiveness.
· Propose and implement operational plans, and lead feasibility studies for new services or terminal opportunities.
· Lead and develop the team: set objectives, supervise daily activity, monitor performance, identify training needs, and foster a culture of excellence and accountability.
· OPEX follow-up with extra operation cost optimization for both liner services and regional port coverage.
· Monitor and follow-up on regional KPI ( TS Stocks, Dwell, Terminal performance< port call optimization)
· Maintain strong relationship with internal and external stake holders in the region.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
· Education: Bachelor's degree required; Seafarer experience is a plus.
· Experience: Solid experience (minimum 7 years) in container shipping and marine operations, with proven exposure to Lines/port/terminal processes and partner management.
· IT Skills: Proficiency in MS Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required.
· Languages: Fluency in English (spoken and written) is mandatory.
