YOUR ROLE :
The CMA CGM Group is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee, coordinate, and manage all construction and fit-out operations across our sites in France. This role is embedded in an execution-focused project management dynamic, requiring a strong hands-on presence on-site to ensure compliance with deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.
Acting as a PMO (Project Management Officer), the Construction Project Manager will lead large-scale workplace and site development projects, requiring a structured and comprehensive approach to project execution and stakeholder coordination.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
- Coordinate construction and fit-out projects nationwide (new builds, refurbishments, interior fit-outs, etc.).
- Lead the execution phase of projects: on-site supervision, issue resolution, validation of key project milestones.
- Develop and maintain project timelines and work schedules; provide regular updates to senior management.
- Conduct and lead site meetings with contractors, design offices, architects, project consultants (AMO), etc.
- Ensure compliance with technical specifications, legal standards, and contractual obligations.
- Manage construction budgets: cost tracking, quotation analysis, invoice validation, and cost optimization.
- Support senior management as a PMO on complex transformation projects (e.g., site restructuring, major workplace developments).
- Participate in the design and planning phase alongside external partners (architects, engineering firms).
- Act as the liaison between internal stakeholders (real estate, operations, top management, etc.) and external service providers.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR ?
- Education: Master’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Construction, Structural, or related field), or equivalent with strong field experience.
- Solid understanding of design and engineering principles.
- 10+ years of experience in a similar role (Construction Engineer, Site Manager, Project Manager, etc.), ideally with a background in technical project management.
- Strong command of project management tools and site supervision practices.
- In-depth knowledge of technical regulations and building codes.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a structured and methodical approach.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills; team player with leadership capabilities.
- Willingness to travel nationally across France as required.
