As part of our growth and development, CMA CGM Belgium is looking for a Transport Support Officer to join the Transport & Procurement team within the ILS department.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Transport Support Officer, you play a key role in supporting the daily organization of inland transport operations. You assist planners and supervisors, ensure the accurate handling of transport orders, and maintain smooth communication with transport partners, terminals and internal stakeholders. You ensure that all administrative tasks related to transport are handled correctly and on time, that information is properly shared, and that operational issues are followed up quickly and efficiently.
The key responsibilities of the Transport Support Officer are divided as such :
- Support the daily planning of truck, barge and rail transport.
- Process transport orders and ensure accurate follow-up in the system.
- Communicate with carriers, terminals, depots and internal departments (import, export, customer service).
- Collect and verify transport documents (in/out reports, POD, customs documentation, etc.).
- Ensure accurate administrative handling and data entry in internal systems.
- Prepare internal transport reports and operational overviews.
- Contribute to a smooth and efficient transport process and support planners and supervisors where needed.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Basic knowledge of maritime and/or intermodal transport is a strong asset.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Dutch; knowledge of French and/or German is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, customer-oriented mindset and ability to prioritize effectively.
- Proactive, solution-oriented and able to work under pressure.
- Comfortable with modern IT tools and quick to learn new systems.
