Customer Service Representative (6 month, full-time)

About the Role:
Reporting to: Customer Service Supervisor
Employment Type: 6-month fixed term, full-time
Work Location: Auckland, New Zealand
This role will provide temporary support over a six-month period, assisting with customer enquiries related to space availability and booking requirements, while proactively addressing schedule changes to ensure suitable transport solutions are arranged.
The position will also monitor capacity across sailings, track bookings against targets, and ensure timely confirmation of any non-standard or late bookings prior to cut-off, making it an excellent opportunity for someone seeking a short-term challenge and the chance to make an immediate impact.
The role and responsibilities will include:
- Respond to customer enquiries on space, bookings and shipment status within agreed timeframes.
- Ensure adherence to internal systems, processes and best practices.
- Coordinate booking changes, at-risk shipments and capacity management to optimise liftings.
- Liaise with overseas agents and internal teams to resolve operational or documentation issues.
- Investigate and resolve invoice disputes, identifying root causes to prevent recurrence.
- Prepare reports, schedules and customer communications, including service updates.
- Build strong customer relationships while promoting services and contributing to continuous improvement and high service standards.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Degree, diploma or equivalent experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Business or Business (preferred).
- Previous experience in a customer service or related role.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills with good computer literacy.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and professional phone manner.
- Customer-focused approach with the ability to build strong relationships.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple tasks and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
