Global Accounting Administrator - CMA CGM

Join CMA CGM, a leading company in the shipping industry, as a Global Accounting Administrator within the Agency Operations Division. This role is vital for ensuring financial accuracy and efficiency across our global shipping activities, supporting the Management Department in maintaining the highest standards of accounting and financial operations.

About the Role

As a Global Accounting Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in the financial management of CMA CGM's shipping lines. You will be responsible for coordinating and administering a broad range of accounting functions that support agency operations worldwide. This position demands meticulous attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and a comprehensive understanding of global accounting principles within the shipping and logistics sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and process financial transactions related to shipping agency operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and international accounting standards.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records, including accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger entries.
  • Coordinate with regional and international teams to consolidate financial information and support global reporting requirements.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities to aid management decision-making.
  • Collaborate with auditors during financial reviews and audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements across different jurisdictions where CMA CGM operates.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior accounting staff and foster a collaborative working environment.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is organised, detail-oriented, and capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines. You will have excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with internal teams and external partners across different cultures and time zones.

  • A recognised qualification in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in accounting or financial administration, ideally within the shipping, logistics, or transport sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems; experience with global financial platforms is advantageous.
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex accounting regulations and standards.
  • Proficient in English, with additional languages considered a plus.
  • Demonstrated commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, and ethical financial management.
