China Strategy Business Developer

YOUR ROLE
This role manages key Chinese-owned business portfolios in Hungary and the Adriatic Cluster, directly supporting Group strategy and business growth. Reporting to local management, it bridges Adriatic and Chinese markets, drives commercial success, and fosters cross-cultural collaboration making a unique impact on CMA CGM’s regional leadership and sustainable development. 

 

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO? 
Market Development & Product Strategy 

  • Analyze the Adriatic market, customer behavior, and business context 

  • Identify and develop commercial offers tailored to customer needs 

  • Create specific products and train sales agents on product expertise 

  • Support agencies in implementation of local sales strategy 

  • Share home country/cluster market insights and business culture with Adriatic teams 

Sales & General Management 

  • Communicate Head Office policies, rate guidelines, and procedures for the Adriatic area 

  • Disseminate best practices across Hungary, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, and Montenegro 

  • Analyze market competition and liner/operator structures 

  • Provide weekly performance and progress reports to management 

  • Visit core customers for business development and relationship management 

  • Coordinate sales lead follow-up and booking with branch offices 

Cross-Regional Coordination 

  • Bridge Adriatic Cluster and China Sales teams for knowledge sharing 

  • Visit Chinese-invested businesses in Hungary and Serbia to support local sales 

  • Relay commercial inquiries between home clusters and China 

  • Share insights on China’s market and business nature 

  • Establish regular communication channels between Adriatic Cluster and China 

Customer Interaction & Networking 

  • Conduct commercial visits and produce detailed reports 

  • Participate in commercial events and build a professional network 

Data Management & Reporting 

  • Maintain accurate commercial data in internal systems 

  • Provide strategic insights through monthly sales data analysis 

Financial Oversight & Compliance 

  • Monitor customer payments and assist in debt recovery 

  • Support dispute resolution and ensure compliance with Group and local rules 

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management 

 

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? 

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years in shipping  

  • Sales, negotiation, CRM, industry knowledge 

  • Leadership, time management 

  • Communication, stakeholder engagement 

  • Data-driven, financial literacy 

  • Salesforce, IT skills 

  • Fluent in Chinese & English, a 3rd language is considered as a plus
