THE ROLE
CMA Terminals Holding is looking for a Civil Engineer who will be responsible for the structuring and supervision of the different port infrastructure projects within Middle-East / Africa / India Region within CMA CGM terminals’ portfolio (Maritime terminals + Inland depot/Dryports).
Based in Marseille, potentially moving to Dubai or Beirut within few years.
Reporting to CMATH Head of Infrastructure in HO.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ?
Overall responsible for the implementation of civil-engineering projects, whether these are greenfield, brownfield expansion or M&A projects, from feasibility and due diligence to design, execution, and final handover, including warranty period.
At all steps of these projects, provide the necessary construction expertise from logistic to marine infrastructures:
• For projects not yet staffed: Initiate preliminary studies or surveys, then trigger design and tender process, and organize the project by structuring and securing necessary internal or external resources. Assist in recruiting appropriate personnel as needed.
• For projects already staffed at existing terminals : offer guidance, oversee progress, and step in with supervision when needed.
Ensure compliance with contractual scope/specification, timeline and budget deriving from the Concession agreement framework. Manage services by owner engineers, technical consultants and site surveyors.
Coordinate elaboration of construction contracts (Fidic base or else), ensuring interfaces with all relevant field of expertise (equipment supply, IT systems & Operations), including Health & Safety / Security / Environmental & Social matters.
Maintain close collaboration with each support functions within HO (Procurement, Insurance, Tax, Legal & Compliance) all along projects.
Implement regular reporting, with KPI on capex and time schedule.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR ?
• Master’s degree in civil-Engineering; Min. 5-year experience in Port/Logistics or Maritime construction, ideally within container terminal business. [International or typical Engineering School such as ESTP/TPE/ENSAM/CENTRALE/MINES]
• Efficient in planning, budget and contract management; Ability to deep dive analysis and documentation. Hand’s on in MS Project, CAD, Excel, Powerpoint etc.
• Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic and Spanish would be a plus), able to manage effectively in a multicultural environment. Comfortable in front of both senior level management and technical experts.
• Pro-active, Teamworking and solving conflicts skills.
