The Strategic Account Director acts as a customer advocate continuously developing and managing the global partnership and relationship between CMA CGM and the customer. This position provides the single point of entry and contact within the CMA CGM organization as required by this customer to ensure one stop complete visibility and understanding of all their global markets and requirements. Also communicates all requirements, perspectives and the cultural focus of this customer within CMA offices globally. Ensures that Head Office has all information, details and insights needed to make decisions related to this customer to secure and enhance a mutually beneficial global partnership.

  • Manage all aspects of contract process including rate quotations and filings.
  • Achieve allocation and budget goals for all global services related to this customer and their retail markets.
  • Ensure CMA CGM’s participation as new opportunities present themselves. Communicate and implement all requirements for these new opportunities including all aspects of operations on an as needed basis.
  • Diversify CMA CGM’s opportunity to improve the average contribution and support new services with this customer's high volume base cargo.
  • Manage the customer dedicated team to ensure their understanding of all customer requirements.
  • Work directly with the client manager to ensure all team members are offered every opportunity for training and education and cross training.
  • Develop succession plans for the team members to ensure the company retains high production and experienced personnel.
  • Provide market intelligence about the customer internally and provide the customer with CMA CGM updates on a proactive basis.
  • Manage team to ensure daily and timely responses to all emails, memos or other requests for information by the customer or internal colleagues related to this customer within agreed upon standards.
  • Utilize travel and entertainment budget to augment customer relationship and business plan achievement.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Computer skills to include Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
