THE ROLE:
Reporting to the Transshipment Supervisor, your primary responsibility is to coordinate, monitor, and execute all transshipment related operations for CMA CGM group cargo at UAE ports.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Transshipment Officer, you will be expected to:
- Handle transshipment cargo movements at UAE ports, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal processes.
- Collaborate with GBS India transshipment team & monitor the effective execution of transshipment tasks, providing support and clarification when needed.
- Monitor load utilization and proactively alert relevant cargo flow teams in case of under- or over-utilization of CMA CGM allocation.
- Send volume forecasts and planned shipments to external feeder operators (3PF) when needed.
- Manage all TS cargo, including renomination, special cargo (e.g. hazardous or reefer), shunting, and time-sensitive movements.
- Validate that all essential cargo data (e.g. Verified Gross Mass, DG approvals, special certificates) are available in the system & coordinate with booking agents and POL teams to correct missing or incorrect information.
- Follow up on COD (Change of Destination), shut-out containers, and short-shipment cases & issue Memo B/Ls where necessary.
- Closely coordinate with the CMA CGM head office, Dubai Regional Office operations and procurement teams to ensure cargo is evacuated with minimum idle time.
- Prepare and maintain weekly, monthly, and yearly reports and KPIs as per management requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFILE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Maritime Studies, or a related field with minimum of 2–3 years of experience in container shipping operations or transshipment coordination. (Specialization in Supply Chain Management is an added advantage).
- You are fluent in written and spoken English and have a good command of office and IT tools (Better knowledge of CMA CGM operation systems is an added advantage).
