YOUR ROLE

 

  • The Transport Department within CMA CGM provides optimal inland solutions to support customer needs in a consistent, cost‑effective manner.
  • This vacancy sits within the planning team, ensuring containers are routed efficiently using road partners across Ireland and North Ireland.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING | KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

 

  • Dispatch all Ireland transport for road
  • Ensure maximum efficiency across all transports
  • Maintain and build strong relationships with internal departments and vendors
  • Ensure all vehicle allocations are met
  • Undertake training to provide cover during colleague absences
  • Act as focal point to provide update for internal teams to ensure high quality of customer service
  • Manage key transport accounts
  • Capture and report all additional costs to relevant departments
  • Provide feedback on transport performance
  • Coordinate with the Transport team to resolve service issues with corrective actions
  • Liaise with import and export customer service groups
  • Build relationships with hauliers
  • Ensure costs are being logged correctly

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 

  • Transport industry experience essential
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Professional telephone manner
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail

 

Practical & Technical Knowledge

  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • Knowledge of Destin8 and CNS port community systems preferable
  • Good geographical and spatial awareness of Ireland, used to calculate appropriate routes
