For our office in Hamburg we are recruiting for a 12-month contract (15-20 hours/week) to start as soon as possible at our Hamburg location a: Working Student (f/m/d) Service Delivery
Your mission:
As a Working Student in our Service Delivery organization, you will assist in analyzing the Disputes & coordinate with stakeholders internally and externally until resolution, while continuously working on improving the quality to avoid recurrence of Disputes. You will support daily operations while helping us become more data driven through better use of analytics, automation and digital tools – preparing yourself for a future where AI and data fundamentally shape how logistics works.
Your Responsibilities:
Support across Service Delivery teams
- Help handle customer inquiries and cases (phone, email, digital channels), ensuring they are answered within agreed SLAs and escalated correctly when needed.
- Assist in dispute and RFI handling by collecting information, documenting cases and following up with internal stakeholders until resolution.
Data, analytics & digital improvement
- Work with operational data (transport events, disputes, service levels, documentation status) to prepare simple dashboards and performance overviews for the teams.
- Help design and maintain lightweight automations and tools (e.g. in Excel, Power BI or similar) to reduce manual work such as status checks, exception logs and rate/look up activities.
- Support basic data quality checks and contribute to root cause analyses for recurring issues, helping the teams use data to prevent problems rather than just react to them.
- Assist in documenting and improving data flows between systems and teams, with a focus on transparency and re usability for future AI applications.
Operational learning and collaboration
- Participate in short improvement projects (e.g. better handover between teams, improved customer communication templates, simplified processes) with a focus on digital and data enabled solutions.
- Support monitoring of KPIs (SLA adherence, dispute resolution time, documentation accuracy, customer satisfaction) and help visualize trends for decision making.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues in Operations, Finance, Sales and other functions to understand how Service Delivery connects to the wider organization.
You Bring on Board:
Education & background
- Ongoing Bachelor’s or Master’s studies in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Data/Business Analytics, Business Informatics, Economics or a related field.
Strong interest in global shipping, maritime logistics and how digitalization, data and AI are transforming the industry.
Skills & mindset
- Very good analytical skills and confidence working with data (Excel as a minimum; first experience with Power BI, SQL, Python or similar is a plus).
- Curiosity for technology and openness to learning how automation, analytics and AI can support daily work, rather than replace it.
- Strong communication skills in English, written and spoken. German language is a plus.
- Flexible, proactive and hands on working style; you enjoy switching between tasks, teams and topics in a dynamic environment.
- High sense of ownership, reliability and willingness to learn from feedback and from more experienced colleagues.
