Internal Title: Solution Architect External
We are seeking a motivated Solution Architect to join our APAC IT team and be part of the wider architect team at the global level.
In this role, you will contribute to the design and implementation of technology solutions that align with our enterprise objectives. You will work closely with the Head Office to understand and adhere to established architecture guidelines, principles, and governance processes. Collaborating with development teams, vendors, and senior architects, you will help translate business needs into practical, scalable solutions—whether projects are executed internally or through external partners—while ensuring compliance with organizational standards.

Main Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the Head Office to gain a deep understanding of enterprise architecture guidelines, principles, and governance frameworks, ensuring all solutions—whether developed internally or through vendors—align with these standards.
• Assist in designing technical architectures for applications, systems, or platforms that are scalable, reliable, and compliant with organizational policies, adapting designs to suit internal teams or vendor capabilities as needed.
• Work with business stakeholders, internal technical teams, and external vendors to gather requirements and develop solution designs that adhere to Head Office directives. • Support the evaluation and integration of technologies, tools, and third-party services, coordinating with vendors when applicable, while ensuring alignment with enterprise governance.
• Create and maintain architecture documentation, such as diagrams and technical specifications, in accordance with Head Office standards, ensuring clarity for both internal teams and vendor partners under senior oversight.
• Partner with development teams and vendors to ensure solutions are implemented according to approved architectural designs and governance requirements, providing oversight as needed.
• Participate in troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges across internally developed and vendor-managed projects, maintaining compliance with enterprise principles.
• Contribute to system migrations, integrations, or cloud adoption efforts as part of a team, following Head Office guidelines and coordinating with vendors where applicable.
• Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to support innovative, compliant solution development, whether executed internally or outsourced.
• Ensure designs meet security, performance, and compliance requirements as defined by organizational governance, regardless of project delivery method. 2/2 Minimum Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10 years of experience in a technical role (e.g., software development, systems engineering) with at least 3 years in a solution architecture or similar capacity. •
Solid understanding of e.g., cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), APIs, microservices, or other relevant tech – customize to your needs.
• Experience working with architecture guidelines, principles, or governance frameworks is highly desirable, including in environments with both internal and vendor-driven projects.
• Familiarity with software development practices (e.g., Agile, DevOps) and basic architectural principles, with exposure to managing vendor relationships a plus.
• Experience with specific tools/tech stack, e.g., Java, Python, SQL databases, etc. is a plus. • Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset, with the ability to adapt to established processes and work effectively with both internal teams and external vendors.
• Good communication skills, with the ability to engage with Head Office teams, internal stakeholders, and vendor partners while explaining technical concepts clearly.
• Industry-specific experience in Shipping, Logistics or Maritime is a plus.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals) are a bonus but not required.
