The Director of Sales – OOG and Breakbulk is responsible for driving sales growth, developing strategic partnerships, and expanding the company's market share in the specialized Out-of-Gauge (OOG) and Breakbulk cargo sectors. This senior-level role involves leading a sales team, identifying new business opportunities, fostering client relationships, and positioning the company as a leader in handling oversized and irregular cargo. The Director will play a pivotal role in achieving revenue targets and ensuring exceptional customer service. The location prefrence for this role is Houston, TX, however can reside in one of our sale officies in Alpharetta, GA, East Rutherford, NJ, Downers Grove, IL or Norfolk, VA.
Functions & Duties
• Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to grow the OOG and Breakbulk business, aligned with the company’s overall goals.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities in global and regional markets, targeting industries such as construction, energy, manufacturing, and heavy equipment.
• Build and maintain relationships with key clients, vendors, and partners to drive long-term business growth.
• Research and analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities and refine sales strategies.
• Achieve and exceed revenue targets for OOG and Breakbulk services through effective sales planning and execution.
• Monitor sales performance metrics and provide regular reports to senior management, highlighting successes and areas for improvement.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements with clients to secure profitable deals.
• Lead, mentor, and develop and educate the sales team specializing in OOG and Breakbulk cargo solutions.
• Foster collaboration between sales, operations, and customer service teams to ensure seamless execution of client projects and satisfaction.
• Provide training and guidance to team members on OOG and Breakbulk cargo handling, industry trends, and best practices.
• Work with the trade team and HO on the overall OOG strategy and plan with clear vessel profile for execution with the commercial team
• Act as the primary point of contact for high-value clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
• Develop customized solutions for clients requiring specialized handling of oversized and irregular cargo.
• Address customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly to maintain strong relationships and loyalty.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials, campaigns, and events that highlight OOG and Breakbulk services.
• Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to enhance visibility and attract new clients.
• Position the company as a trusted leader in OOG and Breakbulk logistics through thought leadership and expert insights.

• Strong knowledge of OOG and Breakbulk cargo handling, transportation methods, and industry regulations.
• Exceptional sales, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to close high-value deals.

At CMA CGM, we are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The expected salary range for this position is $110,000-$140,000 per year. The actual salary offered will be based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and location.
In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for:
