Intermediate Exchange/Lync Engineer

Role profile

Primary purpose of the role                                                                                                                  

Responsible for service and support of CEVA’s Unified Communications environment encompassing Microsoft Lync, Microsoft Lync Enterprise Voice, SIP Trunking, Microsoft Exchange server and related devices and software including monitoring and maintenance of operating systems to prevent system outages and ensure high quality system availability.  Models and acts in accordance with our guiding principles and core values.

Installation, configuration and maintenance of Windows operating systems for required applications or infrastructure need.


Installation, configuration and maintenance of Lync, Lync EV, Exchange and related infrastructure systems.


Administration of Lync, Lync EV, Exchange and related infrastructure systems.


Troubleshoot technical issues in support of Lync, Lync EV, Exchange and related infrastructure systems.  Be initial point of contact for helpdesk tickets.


Maintain Lync user accounts, Exchange e-mail accounts, system security, and system back-ups and provide technical support. Provide administration support for Active Directory.


Monitor performance, capacity and administration of operating systems, Lync, Exchange and related infrastructure.


Work as part of a CEVA Microsoft team.


Patch systems on a regular basis using appropriate tools – SCCM and Patch Link. Automate all patching wherever possible.


Create and maintain documentation for monitoring systems, processes and creation of hardware devices. 


Diagnose and resolve server problems, perform systems updates and back-ups.


Ensure server support and maintain high system availability. 


Ensure security protocol, including record types, updates and back-ups.


Coordinate efforts with technology staff from multi-environment application (application/system/functional).


Provide change management support.


Create and maintain documentation for monitoring systems, processes and creation of hardware devices.


Identify mission critical production jobs and troubleshoot end-user issues.


Provide on-call 24/7 support as needed.


Follow established policies and procedures; determine and recommend potential enhancements.


Installation, configuration and administration of Active Directory.


Install, configure and maintain and upgrade VMware and Hyper V virtual environments.


Performs other duties as assigned.


Person Profile

Specifies the essential (minimal) and desirable qualifications, experience, knowledge and behaviours that are required for successful performance of the role.





Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred or 5 years relevant work experience is required.
  • ITIL Foundation, PMO Foundation, Prince2

Microsoft certification MCP, MCSE, MCSA.


  • Minimum of 3 years’ demonstrated experience supporting Windows OS versions 2003 and up.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ demonstrated experience Implementing and supporting Microsoft core infrastructure services (Windows Server, Windows Failover Clustering, AD, Certificate Services, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, PowerShell Scripting) and well versed in; server hardware, provisioning techniques, FC based shared storage, Clustering, performance monitoring and analysis, etc.
  • Minimum of 2 Years supporting OCS, Lync 2010/2013 and Lync Enterprise Voice.
  • Minimal of 2 years supporting Exchange 2010/2013
  • VMWare / Hyper-V
  • System Center Operations Manager and System Center Configuration Manager experience preferred.
  • Worked alongside global partners in 24x7 environment.
  • Worked in Global role

  • Work with application vendor suppliers.
