About the Role
We are looking for a commercially driven Freight Forwarder Sales Representative (Local NVO Channel) to grow our freight forwarder portfolio and strengthen our presence within the local forwarding market.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, managing key freight forwarder relationships, and driving sustainable cargo growth across our service portfolio. You will work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to deliver competitive transportation solutions while contributing to the company's overall commercial objectives.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage a portfolio of freight forwarder customers while actively identifying and acquiring new business opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers within freight forwarding organizations.
- Conduct regular customer visits, business reviews, and commercial meetings to identify growth opportunities and strengthen partnerships.
- Promote the company's shipping services and value-added solutions, including sustainability products, cargo care, and specialized logistics offerings.
- Understand customer requirements and develop tailored transportation solutions aligned with routing preferences and business needs.
- Manage sales opportunities throughout the entire sales cycle, from lead generation and quotation to business conversion and retention.
- Maintain accurate opportunity pipelines and customer records within CRM systems, ensuring visibility and forecasting accuracy.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, pricing dynamics, and customer developments to identify commercial opportunities.
- Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to support commercial decision-making and strategy development.
- Collaborate closely with Trade, Operations, Customer Service, and Sales Support teams to deliver competitive and operationally feasible solutions.
- Support customer satisfaction, business retention, and long-term account growth through proactive engagement and problem resolution.
- Represent the company at customer meetings, industry events, and networking opportunities.
Skills & Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, International Trade, Logistics, Maritime Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in container shipping, freight forwarding, logistics, or a related commercial environment.
- Experience working with or selling to freight forwarding companies is highly preferred.
- Proven track record in business development, customer acquisition, and account management.
- Strong understanding of container shipping operations, trade dynamics, pricing mechanisms, and logistics solutions.
- Experience using CRM platforms (Salesforce or similar) for opportunity management and pipeline tracking.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify opportunities and create customer-focused solutions.
- Excellent sales, negotiation, relationship management, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with multiple internal stakeholders and manage customer expectations.
- Strong communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of ownership, accountability, and results orientation.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken. Regular communication with regional and international stakeholders is required, and part of the interview process will be conducted in English.
- Ability to work 4 days per week from our Istanbul office (hybrid working model).
