Intermodal Manager

Role & Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and implement intermodal and inland transportation strategies to optimize cost, efficiency, and coverage.
  • Responsible for agency intermodal performance, achieving HO Logistics & Intermodal KPIs, and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Drive business development of intermodal activities together with agency network, commercial teams, and regional/global stakeholders.
  • Oversee identification of new business opportunities and facilitate communication with commercial teams, RO Intermodal, and HO Intermodal for efficient collaboration.
  • Oversee daily operations for intermodal shipments and inland logistics services, including freight order preparation, dispatch, and transport follow-up.
  • Monitor performance metrics (KPIs) and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, legal, and environmental regulations.
  • Prepare regular reports on operational performance and cost analysis.
  • Negotiate with carriers and service providers to secure competitive rates, reliable services, and capacity in line with CMA CGM policy.
  • Ensure application of procurement processes and best practices defined with HO Intermodal procurement.
  • Maintain contract and rate tables within corporate tools.
  • Drive innovation in intermodal and inland solutions to support sustainability objectives, including ‘green’ solutions (rail, barge, alternative fuel trucks).
  • Identify cost savings areas for intermodal and report benefits.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Sales, Customer Service, Finance) to align operational goals and support sales in selling intermodal products/services.
  • Liaise with regional and head office teams for strategy, reporting, and process improvement.

 

Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in intermodal or inland logistics operations.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, market trends, and procurement best practices.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English (part of the interview will be conducted in English).
