Job Summary: 

This position oversees the comprehensive management of the Hong Kong Agency Office, ensuring business development in alignment with Group organizational standards. The role is accountable for implementing effective commercial strategies to maximize local revenue and profitability, while driving overall business performance.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full spectrum of the Hong Kong agency's operational activities including Sales, Finance, Administration, Human Resources, Logistics, and Customer Service, ensuring strict adherence to Group policies and guidelines.
  • Develop and guarantee the budget, KPIs, and performance for HK region. Set and execute strategic objectives aligned with both Agency and Head Office directives to achieve targeted growth.
  • Proactively engage with key customers and partners at appropriate levels to promote CMA CGM Group services, foster relationships, and secure business development opportunities.
  • Maintain in-depth, current knowledge of the local market. Proactively guide and optimize local sales strategies to not only meet but exceed established commercial targets.
  • Build and maintain constructive, high-level business relationships with all stakeholders (Principals, Terminals, Customers, Internal Teams, Management, Suppliers & other parties) to meet the company’s strategic objectives.
  • Establish and manage an effective cost-control system to minimize operational expenditure (e.g., port, CY, administrative costs). Continuously identify opportunities to renegotiate supplier agreements and develop advantageous arrangements with third parties, ensuring all invoicing aligns with services rendered.
  • Guarantee the accurate and timely collection of all freight charges and other fees in strict accordance with CMA CGM corporate guidelines.
  • Host and promote CMA CGM to overseas visitors and international customers in Hong Kong, enhancing the Group’s global presence and partnerships.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive monthly performance reports to management.
  • Offer direct leadership, mentorship, and strategic direction to the Hong Kong management team, fostering a high-performance culture.

 

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree, preferred in Business Management, Shipping, Logistics, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of professional experience at a senior management level within the shipping industry.
  • Deep familiarity with the local Hong Kong/Asian shipping market, backed by an extensive and solid network of industry contacts.
  • Highly energetic, ambitious, and results-oriented with exceptional organizational skills. Must possess strong analytical thinking, commercial acumen, and strategic problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and negotiate effectively at all levels.
  • Fluent in English and Cantonese and Mandarin
  • Proven leadership and entrepreneurial spirit, with the ability to inspire teams, drive change, and manage P&L effectively.
