Your Role
As the Chief Executive Officer of CMA CGM Kaohsiung Terminal, you will be accountable for the terminal’s overall performance, growth and strategic development, reporting to the senior leadership of CMA CGM Ports & Terminals.
You will provide executive leadership across terminal operations, financial performance, customer service, people, safety and stakeholder management, ensuring the terminal delivers against CMA CGM Group’s long-term ambitions.
You will lead the terminal management team and represent the business with key customers, authorities, employees, unions and strategic partners. Through strong leadership and commercial acumen, you will drive operational excellence, sustainable growth and long-term competitiveness.
What are you going to do?
Lead the Terminal’s Strategy & Performance
- Define and execute the terminal’s strategic vision in alignment with CMA CGM Group and Ports & Terminals priorities.
- Lead the terminal management team, establishing clear accountability, effective governance and strong execution.
- Maintain a strong executive presence, representing the terminal with senior internal stakeholders, customers, public authorities and strategic partners.
- Lead transformation and strategic initiatives that strengthen long-term competitiveness and sustainable growth.
- Take overall accountability for safe, reliable and efficient 24/7 terminal operations.
- Drive productivity, vessel turnaround, capacity utilization, service quality and continuous improvement.
- Own the terminal’s financial performance, budget, cost efficiency and profitability.
- Ensure effective collaboration across Operations, Engineering, Commercial, Finance, HR and support functions.
Drive Customer & Commercial Excellence
- Build strong and trusted relationships with CMA CGM, shipping lines and strategic customers.
- Ensure consistently high service standards and effective resolution of critical customer issues.
- Support commercial development, revenue growth and the terminal’s competitive positioning.
- Represent the terminal in strategic customer, industry and commercial discussions.
Lead People & Industrial Relations
- Lead, develop and inspire the terminal leadership team and wider organization.
- Build a high-performance culture focused on safety, accountability, engagement, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Develop talent and succession plans for key leadership positions.
- Maintain constructive relationships with unions and employee representatives.
- Promote sustainable workforce practices that support operational performance and employee engagement.
- Create an environment that attracts, develops and retains high-performing talent.
Champion Safety, Compliance & Sustainability
- Ensure the highest standards of health, safety, security and environmental performance across the terminal.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Taiwanese regulations and CMA CGM Group standards.
- Lead effective crisis management and business continuity arrangements.
- Drive sustainability, energy efficiency, electrification and decarbonization initiatives.
Drive Development, Investment & Transformation
- Identify and lead opportunities for terminal development, infrastructure improvement and capacity enhancement.
- Oversee investment proposals and major CAPEX projects, ensuring disciplined execution and delivery of approved initiatives.
- Promote automation, digitalization and technology solutions to enhance productivity, service quality and competitiveness.
- Partner with Group functions to ensure disciplined capital allocation and successful delivery of strategic projects.
Build Strong Stakeholder Relationships
- Represent CMA CGM Kaohsiung Terminal with the Kaohsiung Port Authority, government bodies and regulators.
- Develop trusted relationships with customers, suppliers, contractors, unions and industry stakeholders.
- Work closely with CMA CGM Group leadership and other terminals across the network.
- Provide senior management and Group governance with clear, timely and relevant business and performance updates.
Who are we looking for?
Must-have
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, Logistics or a related field.
- 15+ years of senior leadership experience in ports, container terminals, shipping, logistics or a related infrastructure business.
- Strong track record leading complex operational organizations with full P&L and financial accountability.
- Demonstrated experience in terminal operations, operational excellence and infrastructure development.
- Proven experience managing senior relationships with customers, government and port authorities, unions and other key stakeholders.
- Strong expertise in terminal and port operations, financial management, infrastructure and CAPEX development, operational excellence and productivity.
- Strong commercial and customer management capabilities, with sound understanding of labor and industrial relations.
- Demonstrated strategic planning, risk management, safety and compliance capabilities.
- Strong executive presence, business acumen, decision-making and judgement.
- Proven ability to influence, negotiate and build trusted relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Strong people leadership and talent development capabilities, with a track record of developing future leaders.
- Resilient, results-oriented and able to lead effectively through complex and changing environments.
Preferable
- MBA or equivalent advanced business qualification.
- Experience delivering major investment projects, automation or digital transformation initiatives.
- Experience leading sustainability, energy efficiency, electrification or decarbonization programs.
- Track record of leading large-scale organizational transformation and change.
- Experience working across an international terminal or logistics network.
