Assistant Manager, Outside Sales

Job Summary :

The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for driving business growth for CMA CGM’s ocean freight and integrated logistics services within the assigned territory. The role focuses on developing new business opportunities, managing key customer accounts, and delivering excellent customer service while achieving volume, revenue, and profitability targets.

Sales & Business Development

  • Promote CMA CGM’s products and services to achieve assigned sales targets and KPIs.

  • Identify, prospect, and secure new customers across key trade lanes and market segments (importers, exporters, NVOCCs, freight forwarders, and BCOs).

  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with new and existing customers to grow accounts and increase CMA CGM’s share of wallet.

  • Execute the sales plan in line with the company’s commercial strategy and objectives.

 

Sales Activity & KPI Management

  • Conduct a minimum of 12 customer visits per week.

  • Generate at least 2 qualified sales leads per week.

  • Create a minimum of 12 sales opportunities per week.

  • Submit daily sales visit reports and maintain a weekly sales planner via NOVA Business or the relevant CRM system.

  • Send sales leads to overseas agents to support reverse canvassing on FOB business.

 

Account & Credit Management

  • Manage assigned import and export accounts, including securing NAC and FAK shipments.

  • Monitor debtor aging and coordinate with the SSC Credit Controller team to ensure timely collection of outstanding payments.

 

Value-Added & Integrated Solutions

  • Promote CMA CGM+ value-added services (VAS) to existing and potential customers.

  • Support cross-selling initiatives (XSELL) and collaborate with CEVA Logistics to deliver integrated logistics solutions.

  • Promote intermodal transport solutions as part of CMA CGM’s end-to-end service offerings.

 

Market Intelligence & Reporting

  • Prepare sales reports, market analysis, and ad hoc studies as required by Management or Line Managers.

 

Job Requirements :

  • Diploma or Degree in any discipline with 3– 6 years of sales experience, preferably in the shipping, freight forwarding, or logistics industry.

  • Candidates without formal qualifications but with relevant industry experience are encouraged to apply.

  • Results-driven, persuasive, and highly motivated to achieve sales targets.

  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills with a pleasant personality.

  • Able to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team.

  • Willing to travel, with own transport and a valid driving license.
