Senior Executive, Outside Sales

Job Summary:

The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for driving profitable growth of CMA CGM’s ocean freight and integrated logistics services within an assigned territory. The role focuses on developing new business opportunities, managing and expanding existing customer accounts, and delivering an excellent customer experience, while achieving targeted volume, revenue, and margin objectives.

 

Job Responsibilities:

Shipping Volume Growth Management

  • Promote CMA CGM’s products and services to achieve defined sales KPIs, volume, revenue and profitability targets.
    • Sales Activity KPI: Minimum 12 customer visits per week.
    • Sales Lead KPI: Minimum 2 qualified sales leads per week.
    • Specific Opportunities KPI: Minimum 12 new opportunities created per week.
  • Conduct regular visits to new and existing customers to build and maintain strong, long-term business relationships, with a key focus on account growth and increasing CMA CGM’s share of wallet.
  • Identify, prospect and acquire new customers across key trade lanes and industry verticals, including importers, exporters, NVOCCs, freight forwarders and BCOs.
  • Develop and execute sales plans aligned with the company’s commercial strategy, business priorities and growth objectives.
  • Develop and manage assigned import accounts by securing NAC and FAK inbound shipments, as well as outbound business where applicable.
  • Monitor customer debtor aging and follow up on outstanding payments to ensure timely collection, in coordination with the SSC Credit Controller team.
  • Prepare and submit daily customer visit reports following each sales call and maintain an updated weekly sales planner through Nova Business or the relevant CRM system.
  • Generate and share sales leads with overseas agents following customer visits to support reverse canvassing and FOB business opportunities.

CMA CGM+

  • Promote and develop non-maritime value-added services (VAS) among existing and prospective customers to expand the overall business relationship.

XSELL

  • Identify and develop cross-selling opportunities and collaborate with CEVA Logistics, where required, to provide integrated end-to-end logistics solutions.

Intermodal

  • Promote and develop intermodal transport solutions as part of CMA CGM’s end-to-end service offering, addressing customers’ broader logistics requirements.

Market Intelligence & Ad Hoc Studies

  • Conduct market intelligence activities and prepare market reports, business studies and analysis as required by the Principal, Management or Line Manager to support commercial decision-making and business development.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in any discipline, with 2–5 years of relevant sales experience, preferably within the shipping, freight forwarding or logistics industry.
  • Candidates without formal academic qualifications but with a proven track record and relevant experience in shipping, freight forwarding or logistics are encouraged to apply.
  • Strongly persuasive, results-driven and motivated, with a proven ability to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Pleasant personality with strong communication, presentation, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities effectively and contribute positively as a team player.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory and meet customers regularly.
  • Must possess own transportation and a valid driving licence.
