Role Overview
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Cashier to join our finance team at the Lahore branch of a leading shipping company. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, maintaining accurate records, and supporting smooth office operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Cashiering & Receivables
- Receive cheques and bank payment receipts from customers.
- Record and process Accounts Receivable (AR) transactions in the cash module, including in non-automated environments.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely posting of all cash and bank transactions.
2. Compliance, Control & Reporting
- Ensure full adherence to Head Office finance and compliance policies.
- Perform regular ageing analysis and follow up on outstanding receivables.
- Prepare and submit periodic financial, cash, and compliance reports to relevant stakeholders.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
3. Administrative & Office Support
- Maintain and manage petty cash, including disbursement, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Support purchasing activities (quotations, comparison, PR/PO follow-ups) and coordinate office maintenance services.
- Handle general administrative tasks to ensure smooth daily operations of the branch office.
Qualifications & Profile
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles, processes, and basic taxation.
- Proficiency in IT tools, particularly Oracle-based financial systems and MS Excel (spreadsheets, basic formulas, reconciliation).
- Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
- Strong attention to detail, integrity, and sense of responsibility.
Preferred:
- Professional certifications such as ACCA, CMA, or equivalent (part-qualified or qualified).
- Prior experience in shipping, logistics, or related industry.
- Experience in a branch or corporate finance environment.
