4 stroke Engine Technical Expert
CMA Ships, a subsidiary of the CMA CGM Group, covers all facets of the maritime business: from the fleet management of the vessels to that of the crew members.
CMA Ships is also a team of experts responsible for implementing innovative solutions and making CMA CGM vessels more energy efficient.
The role is a 6 months fixed term contract.
THE ROLE
The 4-stroke engine expert is responsible for supporting fleet management and assisting the crew to ensure smooth vessel operations. In addition, this role requires close collaboration with the New Building, R&D, and Fleet Upgrade departments to maintain the fleet of vessels in optimal condition.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ?
- Comply with IMS and all relevant international rules and regulations
- Ensure all your duties in accordance with quality, health, safety, environmental and ethics policies
- Propose a continuous performance improvement plan which will be reported and reviewed on a periodical basis
- Provide expertise support to the fleets and ships
- Propose solutions to optimize vessels’ maintenance, design and operation.
- Ensure technical communication outside CMA CGM to promote the technical skills of the CMA CGM group
- You represent the Company at various meetings, conferences, public institutions, etc.
- Closely work with R&D department of our suppliers for improvement and propose retrofits
- Accumulate and share the experience across the fleets
- Assist R&D department in technical matters
- Collaborate with guaranty claims to fix common series of vessels issues
- Cooperate with New Building department for specifications of new vessels
- Know supplier network and establish a good relation between societies
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR ?
- Fluent in English
- Master’s degree in engineering ideally in maritime education
- Strong knowledge in all kinds of 4 stroke engines (MAN/Everllence, Wartsila, Himsen, Daihatsu) mechanic or electronic and their auxiliaries
- Technically competent with various software programs, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- At least 3 years’ experience in maritime industry.
