YOUR ROLE
Within the Bunkering & Energy Transition Department, you are responsible for the upstream and downstream quality control of the various fuels purchased as part of the Group’s energy purchasing policy.
You work with several departments of the Group, including CMA Ships (Superintendents, crews, Fleet Managers...), SSE Department (Safety, Security, Environment), Chartering Department, Legal Department, Line Operations.
Internal expert on all matters related to quality of marine fuels covering the entire supply chain, you support the Group's energy transition for the incorporation of biofuels into fossils.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ?
- Establish with suppliers “Quality Management System” (QMS) for the sake of transparency of the supply chain and the quality of products to be delivered on our ships
- Participation in the development & evolution of quality specifications and bunkering procedures, in line with the Group's compliance policy concerning our processes (CSR)
- Management of fuel quality disputes with a view of reducing costs / minimizing operational impacts following quality defects, in collaboration with buyers and other group of departments involved
- Quality control upstream of purchases: verification of “certificate of quality” (COQ) and downstream deliveries: control of all analyzes of samples provided by the laboratories for the whole fleet
- Ensure in-depth knowledge and continuous updating of existing renewable products, covering technical, regulatory, and quality aspects relevant to operations.
- Manage and monitor ISO 9001 requirements, including updating the quality management system, contributing to the action plan, and implementing continuous improvement measures related to fuel control activities.
- Participate in ISO working groups related to marine fuel quality, contributing to discussions, sharing technical expertise and supporting the monitoring of standards developments impacting fuel quality and operational practices.
- Manage supplier claims, including analyzing non-compliance issues, coordinating exchanges with suppliers, following up on corrective actions, and closing files related to quality and contractual requirements.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR ?
- Master’s degree or Engineering degree in Quality / HSE / Risk Management / Environment / Chemistry / Marine or Process Engineering.
- Strong expertise in quality and HSE standards, including ISO 9001, maritime and HSE regulations.
- Advanced knowledge of marine fuels and new energy products, including ISO 8217, VLSFO, biofuels and e-fuels, with solid understanding of fuel properties and risks.
- Proven experience in fuel quality incident management, non-conformity handling, supplier claims and root cause analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to implement, manage and improve management systems (procedures, audits, KPIs, action plans, continuous improvement).
- Strong project management and data analysis skills, with advanced Excel proficiency and experience in KPI monitoring / BI tools.
- Leadership, communication and pedagogical skills, with the ability to influence, train and align cross-functional and international stakeholders.
- Analytical, rigorous and adaptable, with strong decision-making capabilities, especially in complex or high-pressure situations.
