Finance Control Senior Manager (M/F)

MISSION :

 

Within the Group Finance management (HO FCD), you ensure the reliability, compliance, and consistency of financial information produced by the Group’s Shipping agencies and subsidiaries (300+ entities). You contribute to the Group’s financial strategy by strengthening financial control within subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with statutory and internal standards, and optimizing processes.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES :

 

  • Financial Reporting and Month-End Close:
    • Supervise statutory closing and consolidated reporting across the network, ensuring deadlines are met.
    • Ensure control of monthly financial statements intended for Group consolidation and statutory financial reporting.
    • Implement corrective actions to guarantee the accuracy and quality of financial statements.
    • Analyze and correct intercompany discrepancies and reporting inconsistencies.

 

  • Support to Regions and Local Entities:
    • Coordinate financial control within regional offices and ensure process consistency.
    • Train and support financial correspondents in subsidiaries and regional offices.
    • Conduct on-site missions for internal control reviews or financial management assistance (travel to subsidiaries required).

 

  • Financial Analysis and Optimization:
    • Lead analytical reviews to identify performance drivers and analyze variances.
    • Monitor Forex balances and ensure the application of appropriate accounting schemes.
    • Supervise necessary accounting adjustments.

 

  • Internal Control and Compliance:
    • Strengthen the internal control framework (periodic testing, risk mapping, Sapin 2/OFAC compliance).
    • Participate in the efficient implementation of Group financial processes and procedures in subsidiaries.
    • Manage statutory audits (auditor appointment, report monitoring, fee negotiation).
    • Ensure financial and regulatory compliance for entities outside the regional scope (120+ entities).

 

  • Intra-Group Financing and Treasury:
    • Optimize internal financing for entities (needs analysis, financial structuring).
    • Monitor cash levels and organize fund repatriation (dividends, cash pooling).
    • Collaborate with Treasury, Legal, and Tax departments on strategic projects.

 

  • Cross-Functional Coordination and Projects:
    • Coordinate exchanges between stakeholders (Subsidiaries, Regional offices, Head Office) and departments to ensure smooth project execution.
    • Facilitate the implementation of cross-functional initiatives by acting as an interface between teams.
    • Participate in continuous improvement projects (e.g., Unified Reporting, Fast Close, Finance ERP).
    • Provide expert support on complex issues.

 

 

 

 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS :

 

  • Master's degree (or equivalent) in Finance; a Chartered Accountant / CPA qualification would be highly valued. Minimum 10 years of experience, ideally gained first within an audit firm and subsequently within an international group.
  • Proven experience in a similar role within a large international organization, such as a CAC 40 or SBF 120 company. Prior experience with a Big Four audit firm would be a strong advantage.
  • Strong leadership and management capabilities, with the ability to lead teams across multiple organizations and geographical regions.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to translate complex technical matters into clear and understandable concepts. Creative problem-solving abilities and a proven capacity to inspire teams to implement innovative solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across all finance functions. Experience operating within a matrix organization and collaborating with key stakeholders at various levels.
  • Deep understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and the ability to apply these principles to both new and existing transactions. Demonstrated ability to document, support, and defend accounting conclusions in a clear and robust manner.
