YOUR ROLE
As part of a newly created position within the Group Tax Department, you will join a team of four people responsible for managing the tax affairs of the Group’s maritime activities (shipping lines and shipping agencies) in the IEMEA region (India, Europe, Middle East, and Africa), as well as coordinating global tax matters related to maritime operations.
Reporting to the Senior Manager in charge of this division, your role will be to act as a Generalist Tax Advisor for an international scope, mainly covering shipping agencies. You will be responsible for securing and planning tax matters related to the Group’s maritime operations.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

Providing advice and support to local teams on day-to-day tax issues (excluding compliance);

Conducting technical research on foreign tax matters across all types of taxes (direct and indirect taxation);

Ensuring the correct application of the tax treaty network;

Drafting memos and notes for the Tax Department or other internal departments;

Assisting with or monitoring tax audits and other tax matters, in coordination with local CFOs and external advisors;

Overseeing the local implementation of the transfer pricing policy defined at headquarters (including management of APAs and rulings);

Defending the Group’s tax positions during audits (application of tax treaties and TP policies);

Conducting tax analyses and providing recommendations when entering new countries;

Participating in cross-functional Group projects involving the network of maritime agencies;

Reviewing contracts from a tax perspective.
Your main internal contacts will be regional or local CFOs, as well as members of the Tax Department.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
You hold a Master’s degree (Master 2) with a focus on Tax Law and/or a qualification from a law school with strong foundations in international taxation. You have solid professional experience (excluding internships and work-study) either in a large international company or in a law firm specializing in corporate tax.
You are fluent in English, and comfortable working with numerical data and office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
