Internship - Designing CMA CGM's Cyber Steering Platform
Led by Rodolphe Saadé, the CMA CGM Group, a global leader in shipping and logistics, serves more than 420 ports around the world on five continents. With its subsidiary CEVA Logistics, a world leader in logistics, and its air freight division CMA CGM AIR CARGO, the CMA CGM Group is continually innovating to offer its customers a complete and increasingly efficient range of new shipping, land, air and logistics solutions.
Committed to the energy transition in shipping, and a pioneer in the use of alternative fuels, the CMA CGM Group has set a target to become Net Zero Carbon by 2050.
Through the CMA CGM Foundation, the Group acts in humanitarian crises that require an emergency response by mobilizing the Group’s shipping and logistics expertise to bring humanitarian supplies around the world.
Present in 160 countries through its network of more than 400 offices and 750 warehouses, the Group employs more than 155,000 people worldwide, including 4,000 in Marseilles where its head office is located.
YOUR ROLE
Within the Group's Cybersecurity Department, you will join the cyber operations office, a team responsible for governance, control and continuous improvement of the cyber activity. You will be at the heart of a strategic, structuring project: designing, from scratch, a platform to steer the Group's cybersecurity resources, skills and budget. A genuine data & tooling project with strong business impact, which you will drive from need definition through to development follow-up, working directly with technical teams.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
• Field immersion: you will meet cyber operations teams to gain an in-depth understanding of their roles, constraints and steering needs.
• Field-data collection and structuring: you will design ways to gather reliable, usable data at the source, to give an objective view of cyber activity.
• Platform design: you will define the functional architecture of the centralization solution (resources, skills, workload plans, investments, technologies) and steer its development alongside the dev teams, proposing the automations and improvements you see fit.
• Building KPIs: you will design operational indicators that translate cyber activity into figures — what cybersecurity does to protect the Group — to support management decisions (hiring trade-offs, tool choices, investment prioritization).
• AI watch and challenges: the Group is investing heavily in AI for its tools and capabilities — a major lever for speed and autonomy in incident response, but also an expanded threat surface. You will factor this in when designing your indicators and the platform.
• Strategic contribution: you will identify gaps between actual activity and the Group's cyber strategy and formulate concrete, decision-ready recommendations.
• International exposure: you will collaborate with teams based in the Philippines, Quebec and India, also involved in cyber steering topics.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
• Education: you are pursuing an engineering degree (or equivalent Data/Digital Master's), with a genuine interest in data and solution design.
• Analytical and data skills: you are comfortable structuring and analyzing complex data; advanced Excel required, Power BI/Tableau/SQL strongly preferred.
• Technical affinity: prior experience in automation, data visualization or development (even self-taught) is a real plus — you will be able to work effectively with developers.
• Project management: you can structure an approach, prioritize and deliver autonomously in a cross-functional, international environment.
• Languages: you are comfortable in English (French is a plus).
• Personal qualities: curious, rigorous and proactive, you like to understand the field before designing, and you're not afraid to bring ideas forward.
